Happy Reformation Day!!
October 31, 1517 was the day that Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the church door in Wittenburg. Thus began the Protestant Reformation! So, if you are a Christian of a denomination other than Roman Catholic, you can thank Luther for making that possible. I…

Nahum
1:3 "The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, and the LORD will by no means clear the guilty. His was is in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet."
Verse two tells us that YHWH is avenging and wrathful, but verse 3 says He is also slow to anger. YHWH is "great in power," thus able to…

Dear Rhett and Link,
Y'all are amazing. But you know what would make y'all even more awesomer? If you could post the guitar chords for your songs! That'd be even more epic than a mythical beast from Maine eating fried chicken and waffles!!!
Thanks,
Katie

Nahum
1:2 "The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD is avenging and wrathful; the LORD takes vengeance on His adversaries and keeps wrath for His enemies."
Aside from two introductory sentences in verse one, this book/Nahum's message opens by speaking of Yahweh's characteristics. Yahweh is jealous, avenging, wrathful, He takes… Continue

Nahum
1:1 "An oracle concerning Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum of Elkosh."
There seems to be two separate intros here in the first verse, yet it seems a little redundant. The words oracle and vision are used, however, which make each… Continue

I have decided to start a blog about my daily devotions.
Every day I study my Bible and record insights and such. I go one
verse at a time through each book of the Bible. I just recently started the book of Nahum. I've been going through the Minor Prophets (Jonah, Amos, Obadiah, Micah, etc.). So, this is the beginning of something I hope to continue.
Feel… Continue

I am so excited to be a part of SuperNote 2010 this year! My son entered last time but I couldn't help but join SuperNote 2010 this year! I spent the first half the month training; conditioning my lungs to slowly release the air and produce a solid SuperNote. I wasn't about to enter a competition without some sort of preparation. My children needed to see that in order to be successful at something, you must work hard. Things don't fall into your lap. I needed to set an…

I am so thankful God has provided a biblical church for my husband and me to go to each week. However, I know from experience that not many biblical churches exist. A famine has swept across America. A famine of God's Word being faithfully, honestly, joyfully preached and obeyed. America's situation is reminiscent of Amos' time in Amos 8:11.
Anyway, what I wanted to discuss was our problem with theology and doctrine.
No one wants to talk about it. I grew up in… Continue

I did not use "Well, it depends" today, but things still went pretty well.
A lady came up to the counter and asked what "S.S." stood for. None of us volunteers could remember the German. I asked Rachel, one of the Volunteer Services Operational people, and she couldn't remember, either. It was funny to see a bunch of people standing around, trying to make up German words. Anyway... All of a sudden, Jon* comes down the staircase. I grinned.…

Recently i feel that there is no true reason that schools are there......you can not teach intelligence you can only teach facts. The schools ever since you were little you were taught about a wide variety of subjects that you will not need in the future because they end up pushing you into one feild anyways. Also you forget all the pointless facts as you grow older.
You dont need school to learn useful skills especially since they dont teach them. And learning things you wont need is…
