I am so thankful God has provided a biblical church for my husband and me to go to each week. However, I know from experience that not many biblical churches exist. A famine has swept across America. A famine of God's Word being faithfully, honestly, joyfully preached and obeyed. America's situation is reminiscent of Amos' time in Amos 8:11.
Anyway, what I wanted to discuss was our problem with theology and doctrine.
No one wants to talk about it. I grew up in Southern Baptist churches all my life not knowing what theology or doctrine was. It wasn't until I came to the college I now attend that I even heard the words. There are some things I would like to clarify, and anyone can ask me for a biblical basis of anything I state. They are as follows:
-The God of the Old Testament is exactly the same in essence, nature, and character as the God of the New Testament.
-God predestined those who would be saved before the foundation of the world.
-The church is not a place for unbelievers/lost people.
-There were 6 literal 24-hour days of creation.
-The flood during Noah's time was not localized.
-The earth is not millions of years old.
-Christ is the Messiah and YHWH.
-Dinosaurs and humans lived on earth together.
-Isaiah wrote the entire book of Isaiah.
-Christ is returning to take up His Bride, the Church.
-Heaven and hell exist.
-If you do not repent and believe the Gospel, then you will spend eternity in hell.
