I know I already posted one blog today, but we'll just say this makes up for all the times I haven't posted. All I really want to say is that this has been a good year. I am moving out of the dorms Thursday, leaving my sophomore year of college behind. But I feel like I have learned so much, especially this semester, and that I am really starting to take some steps in the right direction. I am so happy I have such an awesome roommate! And that I have an amazing boyfriend. Without either one,… Continue
I said I was going to continue with Heavy Metal and the Middle East in my last post, so here it is. Actually... I think I will just copy and paste the written up version of my speech I did in class. Just as a warning, there was some strong language in one part, so it has been edited, but I still want to apologize if it is offensive to anyone. I think it is still a bit rough, and when I actually give the… Continue
I have a stash of empty plastic bottles and burned out light bulbs that I use to make into a variety of sculptures. Here's a collage pic of two of my Recyc-a-lite bird sculptures named "Blueberry Cheeks" and "Pip." Some fans at my facebook page helped me name my little critters.
This weekend I was showing my nieces and nephew some of the "old school" programs that I used to watch when I was a kid. One of my favorites was "3-2-1 Contact" and the Bloodhound Gang segment from the show. Ahhh...the memories of childhood. :) Here's a video of one of the Bloodhound Gang cases, very… Continue
The other day I created an apple themed treasury at the Etsy site. Stop by and see all of the talented Etsy artists and their own unique apple items they've created from paintings to jewelry. And if you want, leave a comment at the Etsy site.…
I know the guys are still on that adrenaline rush of being interviewed on a national TV show, I know I was just on a Newstalk Radio show in Jamaica.
However, they are far more experienced than I am - at least they got the timezones right.
I had an Epic Fail in the announcement of my interview, due to saying the interview was going to be at 9:15pm. Turned out, they were an hour behind me, not an hour ahead.
It is amazing how much you can learn about the world around you in such a short time. Some of it makes me feel ashamed for humanity, and other things just leave me amazed at the joy and wonders that we don't get to see in our realms of existence. For my speech class, four of my peers and I are doing a presentation on the Invisible Children. It is heart breaking what happens in Northern Uganda and other parts of Africa. We set up the schools for schools program at our university, and hope… Continue
The other day I went to go and visit a childhood friend. She lives in the neighborhood that we grew up in, or she grew up in and I lived in
until I was eight years old. It is also the same place where another of
my childhood friends lived. However, unfortunately this friend passed
away a couple of years ago.
As I drove through my town from childhood, I recalled a variety of
memories. When I first got into the city,… Continue
I just logged in to the Kommunity and the thing showed me as a featured member. Does this mean I am responsible for something, or should I be jumping up and down for joy? I have no clue - if anyone reads this here blog and has an answer - please help me out!!
