ANNOUNCING "RHETT & LINK'S BUDDY SYSTEM"

"Buddy System is the story of the very existence of Good Mythical Morning being threatened by our co-ex-girlfriend from high school, who is now an infomercial queen. And then the crazy adventure that we have to go on to get Good Mythical Morning back. This adventure may or may not include a song in every episode, me [Rhett] getting branded, me [Link] getting tased, a rollerskater/rollerblader gang fight, us singing a barbershop quartet with out clones, a magicician who does real magic, and possibly a talking exercise bike."

Should we make a post to show them all, what we can get so far? I think it would be neat so that by the time the show comes out, we can try to point out what every BTS thing was for! :)

They have worked so hard to get to this point in their career and their excitement about the project was shining through. I pay a lot more than for cable TV and don't watch it near as much as YouTube, so the price of YouTubeRed is well worth it. And no ads, even better.

When they first announced youtube red, I thought for sure Rhett and Link would be approached to do something for it--they're kind of teacher's pet in that regard. Whenever youtube needs to send creative, interesting people to something like Sundance or conferences in France or give them creator grants to test out long-form content on the platform, youtube picks Rhett and Link. I noticed Thursday episodes having fewer and fewer segments, nothing on the main channel at all yet this year, and then they announced a six-week break between seasons? It had YTR written all over it the whole time ;) That being said, i am so so so happy that they have the time and were given the budget to make something truly special. This has been a dream of theirs for a long, long time. They've teased narrative content since 2013, and we're finally going to get to see what happens. I currently have the three month trial of YTR, and so far I've been enjoying MatPat's "Game Lab." If the amount of care and budget that went into that are any indication, "Buddy System" is going to have stellar production quality. I already trust Rhett and Link to write a good show and make good music etc. But now they are going to have all of the equipment and staff and sets and locations that they need. They do a fantastic job with the production value of GMM, but this will be soooo polished. I'm excited for them and thrilled at the prospect of getting a substantial amount of creative content from them in the coming months!

It took me a little while today, but I'm ultimately happy for them. They get to create something new and fun and they look really excited about it. I have to remind myself that they make videos because they love doing it. That's their passion and that's all that matters.
