For the fourth year, we held our Kommunity Beast of the Year vote. This is an open-answer vote by the membership to identify and celebrate an individual who people think had the most positive or influential effect on the Kommunity in the year 2016.

On December 18, while driving down to South Carolina to see my family, my husband and I decided at the last minute to take a detour through Rhett and Link's hometown(s) and old stomping grounds.

Hello, Beasts! Rhett and Link announced on their Tumblr blog this afternoon that they will not be able to attend Vidcon this year. I'm sure that's very disappointing news if you were hoping to see them there, BUT there is also some good news! Rhett and Link also stated they're working on a secret project that they can't announce quite yet, and that's the reason why they can't attend Vidcon.

As you know, Rhett and Link recently announced that they are handing the keys of the Kommunity over to the Mythical Beasts as a fan-run social site. As a result, the moderators have been given much of the overhead control of administrative, technical, and general day-to-day upkeep on the Kommunity. In the days since their announcement, we have seen some confusion…

Our desire is that the Kommunity be a friendly place for beasts of all backgrounds and opinions to have fun and interact with one another. To that end, it's necessary to have moderators who work to keep everything organized and appropriate for everyone.
