I associate blue and green with Rhett and Link's website, which I assume comes from the blue and green screens they use when filming stuff, and not NC-blue and tarheels.

How about a mythical two-headed beast, a-la-Pushmepullyou?

P.S. enough already with the NC-blue and tarheals motifs - - folks down on the bayou enjoy R&L too, but i've refrained from a purple & gold mascot. ;-)
The problem with that is Rhett and Link hate NC University, they went to NC State (Wolfpack) so the Blue isn't from the Tarheels. I think they said they chose the blue an green because Link would often wear Blue and Rhett Green, plus they look good together so they stuck with it.

Actually, I was referring not to the overall Komumity color scheme but to several of the proposed RandLer mascot renditions. Lots of blue there - - but you're right I now see it a much kindler, gentler blue than UNC baby powder.

You learn something new everyday... I have now been enlightened (about the wearing blue and green)...

Here's my effort. I used the following songs (and many of the suggestions from this discussion) as influences on my version of the RandLer:

-Wales
- The How We Met Song (Profanity & Unicorns)
-Hannah Montana Cliffs Notes
-Fireworks Hall of Fame
-Cornhole Song
-Velcro Song
-In the 80's

Oh, yeah, and Lionel Richie may have influenced it a little bit. I'll let y'all decide on that.

Ok, here is what I came up with!

Green rhett and link heads with scales, robot-spider bodies, three eyes, three ears, up-side down nose, and a REALLY tiny nose! Too weird?
Well, Shoham, there are plenty of humanoid or part-human mythical beasts of legend -- the fairy, centaur, and satyr for starters. I see nothing wrong with incorporating more human characteristics into a RandLer.

He seems so noble! Loved it! Although his face seems just a bit too human-like, don't you think?
Maybe we should do something a little different. I've always found the "Swamp Donkey" to be entertaining. (its a Canadian Moose). Perhaps have a moose with glasses and fluffed up hair to resemble Rhett and Link, so it's not SOO over the top, yet it's still different enough that it suits us. Larnold and Rusty could maybe have a special about going huntin for Swamp Donkey.
Wow what an epic effort! I like it, its kinda geeky but cool and not afraid to stand up for itself....right?!

Here's my interpretation. It was incredibly fun to draw, and I'd really like to ride one of these things through the forest.
This one is great! It's not very intimidating but that's a lot to take in!
