Dance cleaning is not a new concept . . . it's been around for many years.

These foot accessories are ideal for dance cleaning . . .

I've also been a huge proponent of the head and pits shower for several years.  I'm just happy to know there are other people who think full-blown showers are too much of a time commitment.  I thought I was alone in my laziness!  :p

FYI - - - sometime between the original upload and now the title of this episode has been changed from Dance Cleaning to its current 4 Alternatives To Showering

This happens occasionally. Usually it's within the first few hours, but I'm still a bit curious as to why the titles change at all. Maybe just thought of a "better" one later, maybe to get more views? Not sure.

The thumbnails tend to change sometimes as well. I forget which ones exactly, but some of the thumbnails that Gumbo has in these threads are different than the ones on youtube.

Usually if the thumbnail changes the pic I put on the discussion will also auto-update, since I use a hyperlink to the YouTube upload . . . if I do it right.  At the end of every season I always go back and check the thumbnails and titles before uploading the "final" version of the GMM Posters

I'm pretty sure it's as you said, to get more views. I notice here that they switched the title to one of those listicle, clickbait-type titles with a number in it. I don't know what it is about putting a number in the title and making it sound like a list, but seemingly those titles attract people more, given that sites dedicated to viral stories all use them.

I definitely agree that the video titles have gotten pretty clickbaity lately. I understand wanting to have an interesting title that catches people's attention, but some of the GMM titles boasting lists of the "most amazing" or "unbelievable, must-see" things are pretty reminiscent of the classic, corny advertisements you'll see everywhere. "Doctors hate her! Mom of three discovers 3 absolutely unbelievable ways to treat your own back pain for under $5 a month. You won't believe what happens next!"

But at least most aren't as bad as the "We're Quitting YouTube" video, which, if I recall correctly, originally WASN'T called that and then was changed later! I could be mistaken on that though.

Yep. I'm not in the research mode to go back and figure out when they started using the click-bait/list titles, but I'm fairly certain they did not appear heavily in at least seasons 1 and 2. There is a much stronger prevalence after they moved into their Burbank studio and, for that matter, added staff members who would have input and ability to influence the drive for click-bait views.

Not to say that the Mythical Krew are entirely to blame or anything, but I imagine Stevie (as the producer) and possibly others who are specifically involved in R&L's social media had some say in that GMM titling and show format change, based on what they were seeing happen in other viral venues.

"Dance cleaning" and making cleaning more fun reminds me of some Pine-Sol commercials where the Pine-Sol lady tut-tuts those methods.
