Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!
For those of you who haven't heard yet, the Hashtag War has officially ended. The deal has been struck with Good Morning Maryland. The deal Good Morning Memphis still has a few issues to work out, but it is definitely underway.
Here's Good Morning Maryland's convo with R&L from yesterday (Monday) morning: http://www.abc2news.com/dpp/entertainment/abc2-relinquishes-gmm-get...
Good Morning Memphis is obviously not ok with loosing this war, so I'm thinking there will be another follow-up video in the future: http://www.myfoxmemphis.com/video?autoStart=true&topVideoCatNo=...

it's nice that it ended so nicely with good morning maryland, they came out really great.
as for the memphis folk... I still don't like them.
Thanks for posting this Alexis! I had no idea where the hashtag war was going.
Thank you for the up date! I was actually just checking out the hash-tag stuff.
Thanks again Alexis for the situation update - - - more coverage and discussion on the #GMM battle and settlement discussions can be found at:
I have the utmost respect for the Maryland people! They were very gracious about the whole thing, took it at face value, and as such were able to really have fun with it as intended. Like Link keeps saying: everyone wins!
Memphis however seems to have taken offense to it all, which is unfortunate. :(
I don't understand why Memphis didn't like the jingle....
I found it...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTDSK4N9wkU
Here's the most recent video from Memphis. They seem to be in much better spirits this time around: http://www.myfoxmemphis.com/video?autoStart=true&topVideoCatNo=...
I'm so confused! Were they saying that was the first time they had ever heard the revised jingle? In the other video, they were saying they heard "the" jingle and didn't like it. I'm also a little confused as to why they could never manage to get a good phone connection, for goodness sake!
But in any event, it looks like the war is officially over and #GMM belongs to the Mythical Beasts!
FYI - - way back when, during the Great Hashtag War of 2013, I became curious about what else in this world the letters GMM might stand for . . . so I searched and found and actually submitted to AcronymFinder.com (see below) that GMM did indeed really mean Good Mythical Morning > > > http://www.acronymfinder.com/GMM.html
And it is now "OFFICIAL"
- - the site indicates GMM = Good Mythical Morning as one of the 29 VERIFIED definitions in its database
- - there are an additional 129 unverified definitions for GMM in the "Acronymn Attic"
- - when I submitted the entry it included a link to both http://rhettandlink.com/ and www.youtube.com/user/rhettandlink2 for verification of its common usage and meaning, but the site admins did not include it in the posting once it was approved. I've asked Jason Inman to consider pursuading one of the highly motivated interns at the GMM Studios to invest some time and effort to figure out how to flesh this thing out properly.
- - GMM = Good Mythical Morning is currently ranked #12 of the 29 verified definitions, but we might consider mobilizing the MB Commandos in some way so that we could take over the #1 spot from Graspop Metal Meeting (music festival, Belgium)
