How are you doing? It's almost impossible to actually chat online (I have no idea of the time difference between here and Australia.
I hope you and your family are doing well.
My youngest daughter is off to join the military. ( I'm both happy and proud (since it is a family tradition). She's plans to get married too. It's a lot for one so young (marriage a family tradition too). She brings me great joy and worry all at the same time. Parenthood is not for the faint of heart. I posted a poem about it on the Rhett and Link group Poetry Corner read it if you like. : )
Ingredients
3 cups of any brand old-fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup dried craisins ( I luv Craisins)
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
3/4 cup unsalted butter,
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3/4 cup (105 grams) all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In the bowl beat the butter and sugar until creamy and smooth then add egg & vanilla extract (beat again)
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
Combine the flour mixture to the creamed mixture and beat until well mixed. Stir in the oats, and dried cranberries and chocolate chips. (Yummy) feel free to sample cookie dough.
Bake the cookies for about 12 - 15 minutes or until light golden brown around the edges but still soft in the centers. Remove from oven and let the cookies cool
Makes about 20 or 24
My youngest daughter is 18 and I tell you ..... I remember when she was 12. Being the youngest of three she is my little chatterbird. Although I can't say she's so little anymore. She towers over me. L.O.L all my kids do. They love to say we love our little Mom. While I grumble five feet is tall. my son is about a foot over me. : )
Glad your shoes arrived, Kaz! Tweak stopped taking international orders (temporarily, I think), so you're fortunate! And, the delay bugged everyone because it wasn't clear that the shoes actually had to be manufactured, which takes about 6 weeks! The ones Rhett & Link held up in their video were just a prototype.
Hiya Karen! Greetings from the US! On behalf of Rhett, Link, the Kommunity moderating team, and the Kommunity volunteers, WELCOME! We're glad you're here!

Indigo Moon
I rest here in shadow
the light slowly fades
My leaves are so dry
they carelessly fall
The strength and the vibrance
no longer are seen
My colors are gone
much stolen by force
Upon me is winter
he's brought such a chill
It dampens my branches
now painted with frost
All knarled and furled
like torturous veins
lines border my world
and covers my frame
I await in the night
shimmering highlights
On a black canopy
dusted with stars
Not alone am I now
for above I'm embraced
by the pale blue glow
of the indigo Moon
I Love You Like Cake
Auburn Hair all over the place
Books and papers on the floor
Gumball machine on the desk
Posted Demons on her door
Sassy and Beautiful
Face like a younger me
An appetite she’s never full
A sweet tooth for Candy
Her hands like magic
Beauty in everything she makes
From sketches in her sketchbook
To ceramics she creates
She makes her own fashion
And her own opinions too
She hardly ever listens
If I tell her what to do
But she’s a free spirit
Unbroken and wild
Fiery hair Fiery temper
She’s my youngest Child
As Mom and Daughter we’d argue
But make no mistake
If I she ask, “Still love me Right?”
“I Love you like Cake!”
I write poetry as well : )
Have a beasty birthday, Karen! From Rhett, Link, and the Kommunity members :)
