Rough Draft: Chapter 2 (WARNING: Minor swear word alert)

James hadn’t noticed at first, mainly because he was thinking. I can’t just leave ‘em back there. He’s gonna be the loneliest guy in Sussex. James glanced at the clock. 12:36PM, it read. It couldn’t hurt to spend a few minutes to persuade him. He stopped the car, pulled over in a driveway, but as he was shocked to see Ray had already been chasing him down. “James!” Ray cried again. He finally made it to the car. James rolled down the window as Ray put his hands against the car to try to get some breath. “Changed your mind so soon?” James asked, with a grin. “I’d be the loneliest bloke in Sussex without you,” Ray replied, panting. “Well, you’re still in your ‘jammies!” James laughed. Ray winced, ignoring the comment. “Oh… I need to get back into shape…” He grunted. James gave Ray a quick ride back to his flat to pack up and change. When they left, it was already 12:50. “C’mon,” James said, patting the dashboard of his car. “You can make it.” Luckily, the airport wasn’t too far away. When they made it, it was 12:54. “Alright, let’s go,” James said, hurriedly getting his luggage out of the trunk. The two dashed into the airport, and saw Remey tapping her foot. “What the hell took you two so long?” She snapped. “And what’s he doing here?” Ray gave a dry smile and awkwardly waved his hand. “You don’t mind if he comes along, do you?” James asked. “I don’t care, but we gotta go!” She lead the way to the boarding area as Ray glanced at his watch. 12:59, it read. The three took their seats and heard the attendant speaking on the intercom. “It is now 1:00; we will be taking off now.” For the first couple of minutes, the three said nothing. “Well, this is… uh, nice…” Ray said, breaking the silence.
