My own personal thoughts on Buddy System I guess??

I'm super excited about Rhett and Links Buddy System omg!!
The main concern I had for Youtube Red was that their content couldn't reach much of their audience since I thought it was only available in the US, Australia, and New Zealand, but I now know it's available in a much wider selection of countries than that! o;

I'm super excited for them because Youtube Red has allowed for them to create something they've dreamed of, Link called it their baby, their brain child and wow to feel so strongly about something, to be so excited and proud of something to call it your baby is something incredible!

This isn't something they'd have the budget to make otherwise, and honestly I don't think it's bad of them to ask people to pay for it! GMM runs offa sponsors and ads so it's available for free to people and it will continue to be free, but Buddy System is a much larger production with a larger budget that they wouldn't be able to afford otherwise (I mean they woulda done it by now if they could y'know?)

I've seen a lotta people upset about it and I mean I uNDERSTAND THAT IT's disappointing to have creators you're a fan of have content you're unable to see
But also creators reserve a right to charge for the hard work they do! Creators are allowed to charge money for the content that they make, for the hard work they put into things!
Maybe this is bc I'm an artist myself but honestly this is no different to artists making patreon exclusive content that people need to pay for! I follow an artist that makes patreon content and they wouldn't be able to work full-time on their art without patreon! Like I don't subscribe to their patreon so there's content of theirs that I miss out on, but I'm still really happy for them that they're able to do what they do and what they love! And the only reason they can do that is bc people pay them, it's their job

So I mean that's my thoughts on Rhett and Link making content that isn't free I guess! They made Looking for Ms. Locklear which isn't free! Buddy System isn't able to be free or else they wouldn't be able to do it! They said that this is like a dream of theirs coming true and that's so amazing!! That's so fantastic and I'm so happy for them I'm so excited for them and I'm proud of them!

I'm just in full support of artists and creators charging money for their content!
