I was on my way home one afternoon . . . it was early in the Fall and trees were just starting to change color . . . I passed this great big old tree, beautiful tree, and the leaves were gold and red and really pretty and I drove by it every day and I looked at it just kinda thought, "If a tree could talk, what a story it could tell."
It's right around where the Battle of Nashville was and, anyway, that night Chris Stapleton came over to write songs and as he walked in the door the first words out of his mouth he says, "You're gonna think I'm crazy, but I've been wanting to write a song about a tree." 
So that's what we did and we thought, if a tree was to try and make sense of something as senseless as war, what would it say?

I've enjoyed their music for some time now, especially performances from back during the days when Chris Stapleton (yes that Chris Stapleton) was still singing lead.  Good musicianship, tight harmonies and thoughtful songwriting skills.
