Christianity is not a theory or speculation, but a life; not a philosophy of life, but a living presence.

Exodus 14:14

"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

Remember this in all things...relax, find comfort in knowing He is taking care of what you need...

I am in a situation that I wonder if any of you might have advice? I have feelings for a guy. I think that he believes in God, but I don't think it's something he is living by. I really do care about him I'm not sure what to do. Can I be in a relationship with him, or rather should I?

Clirckus, I totally agree that 'Christans' can respond rudely, and we all make mistakes. (That's why we have Christ!) I do not belive that if someone is confused or wrong that we shoud leave it at that. We should come along sidethem and show them the way. Now this does result in alot of text, but that should not seem as if they are 'abusing' or 'attacking' them. Agree?

That's a great response guys. Too often I see when someone disagrees with "Christian" beliefs the "Christians" attack them verbally, or at least in this case, with lots of text. That's immature and hurtful and not at all the way Christians should behave.

I'm glad there's hope when I see reasonable responses. Praise God for you guys and this group!

and @Lucas - this is all part of it here, learning, talking, sharing etc. Like @Gumbo123 said, Don't think for a minute that anyone is judging or harshly preaching. Alot of the peeps here are very much on fire for the Lord and they like to talk and share and clarify God's word. I have noticed thru the years, there are times of major discussions going on, and other times when there is simply prayer and support.  love you all! :) -FUR

Amen to Brian and Gumbo.  Jesus died to complete the law, not abolish it.  We as Christains are free to serve Christ through our salvation.

@ Brian (eHermit) - - WELL SAID!  Thanks for that comment.

@ Lucas (Brony) - - I'm not going to "preach" at you, but the primary fault with your thinking is sumed up by your comment:  Do I believe in god, yes - He/She/The One is in me.  So god is always with me!!!

I note that you say "god"  (small letter g), so you apparently don't know my God - - the one and only - - I would urge you to not seek religion, but a relationship with your creator in order to better understand yourself.

I am actually aware, thru the working of some friends, of a sound fundamental church in your area.   Hope you get the chance to check them out > > > http://ftgibc.org/

The 10 commandments are nothing compared to the Jewish Law. They are merely the foundation of it. Sometime look at what it means to keep the sabbath according to Jewish tradtion - according to the Mishnah, there were 39 acts people couldn't do on the sabbath.  Just to name one, taking a chair from your dining room to your porch so you can sit in the sun and read God's word, would be considered work and would be forbidden.

In Rom 3:19-20 the Apostle Paul tells us that the whole point of the law is to prove that we simply can't make ourselves righteous and just as importantly we are all equal in that transgression.  The Bible goes to great length to point out that we are all both our equal in our failings  and opportunities. Gal 3:28-29 says 28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise"

Jesus's message wasn't "The law doesn't matter or missed the point", but was closer to "The law isn't to be discarded.  It was there to pose the question; I am providing answer."

I saw the video and gosh are the 10 commandments way too harsh.  Plus god's so called law is enforced and interpreted by man in the form of religion (horrible sins like the crusades have been committed in the name of god) - think about that.  I love god and my fellow human beings, that is the real way to live and I reckon that is what Jesus was trying to say (so many others in history have tried to remind us like John Lennon)!!! :)
