Exodus 14:14
"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."
Remember this in all things...relax, find comfort in knowing He is taking care of what you need...

Nolan- I think you are pretty much right. I think some Christians put too much emphasis on going to an actual church building on Sunday and singing a few songs, listening to a sermon, and then leaving. Although there is nothing wrong with this (my family goes to church), the main reason the church was instituted was not so that we would have someplace to go every Sunday morning, but so that we could fellowship with other believers and mutually strengthen each other. You have probably heard the saying that the church is not a building; it is the body of Christ. That is spot-on. So, if you are gathering with other believers in Christ's name, then, I guess, technically you are "going to church." I personally get way more, spiritually, out of my Bible study than I do out of church, and it is often better fellowship with other guys my age and at similar stages spiritually. Anyways, sorry for rambling, but I hope that this helps!
@ Nolan - - - one of the major descriptives of the first New Testament churches was that they were of "like mind" . . . not meaning that they all thought exactly the same as each other but they were all dedicated and striving to think and to do as Christ would . . . remember that " the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch" because they were Christ-like. And, since Jesus did all things to be pleasing to His Father, when we strive to do the same that also brings him pleasure . . . and isn't that what it's all about anyway?
Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
And you're never going to find someone that believes in the scripture exactly the same way you do.
Yes I do think it is important to be around other believers. I didn't mean to say that going to church is a bad thing, I have nothing against church but it just wasn't for us.
I do not go to church, but I found a good Bible study that I am a part of. I think it is important to be involved with other believers and to support each other.
I'm glad you made this group for Christian recognition.
I hope I don't start a huge discussion about this but I really want to mention something. I do not think that because you're a christian you have to go to church. My family went to church for years but we didn't agree with everything they were saying so we moved from church to church but it never felt right so we stoped going. Yeah it's nice to be in the atmosphere of other believers and get different opinions but you don't need to go to church to prove that you're a christian. I do have a youth group that I go to every Wednesday and a Bible study every Sunday, and every chance I get to tell someone about everything that God has done for me and everyone else I do it. Although I'm far from perfect . God has had a huge impact on my life and He has done so much for me and my family that I will do anything for Him. Thank you for hearing me out.
I'm here! I don't think I've ever posted a comment on this page, but I'm here now.
Sorry I didn't add this earlier... Matthew 18 2-4
