Christianity is not a theory or speculation, but a life; not a philosophy of life, but a living presence.

Exodus 14:14

"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

Remember this in all things...relax, find comfort in knowing He is taking care of what you need...

I have! Isn't it beautiful?
When my Dad watched it, he cried.
I believe the second verse to be the best part of the SPB.
It's powerful, BOOM!
:D

Phil, Thanks for the link!. I remember watching Red Skelton as a kid. He was so funny and never compromised morality with inappropriate things. What a beautiful presentation of a serious topic and the basis for true patriotism... True freedom indeed come from independence from sin through dependence upon Christ! May our nation never forget this reality and may we never forget our true heavenly citizenship and earthly roles of ambassadors.

Happy Independence Day! For those of you who are citizens of the USA, I invite you to view this link, reminding us of what it once meant to be a patriotic citizen. For those who are from other countries, observe how peoples and societies can change and drift from their beginnings, and how prophetic some observers can be (pledge being viewed as a prayer and attempts to ban it)

However, our true independence as believers came from what Jesus Christ did on the cross for us, and that transcends any country's boundaries, government restrictions or ideologies. One who is free in Christ is free indeed!

Galatians 4:21-5:1 (New International Version)

Hagar and Sarah
21Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? 22For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. 23His son by the slave woman was born in the ordinary way; but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a promise.

24These things may be taken figuratively, for the women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. 25Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. 26But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. 27For it is written:
"Be glad, O barren woman,
who bears no children;
break forth and cry aloud,
you who have no labor pains;
because more are the children of the desolate woman
than of her who has a husband."[a]

28Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. 29At that time the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. 30But what does the Scripture say? "Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman's son."[b] 31Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.

19 Now those who were scattered after the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the Jews only. 20 But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus. 21 And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
22 Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch. 23 When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord. 24 For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.
25 Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul. 26 And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. (Acts 11:19-26, New King James Version)

25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (Matthew 6:25-34, New King James Version)

Perfect sense (:

@AlyCat - Saved by faith alone "in whole" while the action of sacrifice was the obedient overflow of that saving faith. Obedience to God's Word is the normal response, the life transformation, that comes from having an authentic, biblical, faith that is active. Does that make sense?

You guys are great!
Yes, that's exactly it.
I mean that "in part" by believing that they were saved.
Like we are now.

You guys came up with brilliant references.
It's so cool to hear this kind of response from you all.
