Christianity is not a theory or speculation, but a life; not a philosophy of life, but a living presence.

Exodus 14:14

"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

Remember this in all things...relax, find comfort in knowing He is taking care of what you need...

Wow, talk about conviction and a strong message! I totally agree. We can put the blame on a lot of things, but ultimately it comes down to what believers do with their faith, and men, we should be at the forefront, as God made us to be, not behind the women who are stepping up because a man hasn't. Women are certainly called to ministry, but their best ministry to other women. Men are called to minister to other men and to be head of their households, especially spiritual heads of their households. In order to do that, we have to be in the Word and strengthening our relationship with Jesus.

I was privledged to hear a few great messages this week at a men's conference hosted by our small church in Grapevine, TX
- - check us out at www.bethelbaptistchurch.org (I'm the website manger)

The theme was "BE A MAN!" and is based on the following verse:

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
~ I Corintians 16:13

The phrase "quit you like men" doesn't mean to throw in the towel and give up, it refers to an actor playing the part that was written for him. In otherwords, be the man that God intended you to be, do what's right in His eyes and not your own.

Another great thought was this:America has lost much of God's blessings recently because it has compromised from the the moral standards it once held and become weak, determined to stand on its own merits instead of relying on God. America has become weak because it has allowed a weak government. The government is weak because of weak churches. The churches are weak because of weak families. And families are weak because of weak men!

Be the man that God intended, and there will be a "trickle-up" effect that could turn this country back around. It's up to you. Don't think that one person can't make a difference in a church, or that one small church can't make a difference in your community. . . about 2,000 years ago 12 men, by doing what God wanted them to do, were able to turn the world upside down in a manner that is still powerful and effective today. .

Here's a prayer request for a guy that I used to work with. His name is Zach and about a month ago he went to a Dave Matthews Band concert in Chicago. That night, back at his hotel, he fell from his balcony. Sadly, no one found him until the next morning. He just woke from a coma and now has a LONG recovery ahead. To make matters worse, he hadn't been able to find a job since he graduated from college which also means he is without insurance. He's still in critical condition and cannot be moved so his parents are constantly having to travel back and forth from Chicago to Evansville. A facebook page has been set-up called LoVe for Zach that is keeping everyone updated on his recovery. Again, please keep him in your prayers. Thank you!

1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. (2 Timothy 4:1-8, New King James Version)
