Christianity is not a theory or speculation, but a life; not a philosophy of life, but a living presence.

Exodus 14:14

"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

Remember this in all things...relax, find comfort in knowing He is taking care of what you need...

Yes Jeannette... I guess sort of everybody. The Kommunity,  Rhett and Link but also our Christian group of course.  I guess it was just sort of a reminder because I sometimes forget! :(  and I happened to have it on my heart at that moment.:)

I admire those who endevor to make God's Word known and accessible to those who have never had opportunity. Praise Him for raising those servants up to minister in this way. I don't really think that all modern translatations are created to dumb down, though I do agree that SOME definitely have their own agenda and not God's. Not debating--I have KJV, NASB, NIV.

OKAY - - - so normally I am strictly KJV and, before you ask, the answer is "No, I don't want to debate."  Ask me why on the side one day and I'll be happy to elaborate.

I do however enjoy reading or hearing a good story about missionaries who have devoted years of their lives working on a true and literal translation for peoples of other languages.  My own Pastor was a missionary for almost 30 years to various tribes in the Highlands of Papua-New Guinea.  It took him and two others over six years of diligent prayer, study and late nights to translate Psalms, Proverbs and the New Testament into the Pidgin English that is spoken as a common trade language throughout the islands.   How do you explain ETERNITY to a people who have no written history and live an average lifespan of 35-40 years ("long time long time") or the phrase "white as snow" when you live 3 degrees off the Equator?

Anyways, just thought I would just post the following for your reading enjoyment and provide a link to the Hawaiian Pidgin Bible that I found online a while back.  Hope you enjoy.  I particularly enjoyed reading the story of Jonah and the Whale from the perspective of an island people.

PSALM 23

Da Boss Above, he take care me,
Jalike da sheep farma take care his sheeps.
He goin give me everyting I need.

He let me lie down wea da sweet an soft grass stay.
He lead me by da water wea I can rest.

He give me new kine life.
He lead me in da road dat stay right,
  Cuz I his guy.

This morning, a young girl I recently met, ran away from home.
Please pray the God gives her a reason to come back home, stop running, and become willing to be found. The Lord is incredible in His pursuit of the lost.
Please pray.  I am confident that she will be brought home.

I was recently forwarded a link to a very interesting video trailer through a "friend of a friend" whose church sponsors the Papua-New Guinea missionary family that is featured in the upcoming documentary titled "TWO HATS ~ That I Might by All Means Save Some"

The filmmaker, Andrew Garcia, has just returned from PNG in the past month and is currently editing footage for a full length documentary. You can see other clips and sign up for alerts to follow the progress of the movie at www.pngdocumentary.com.

To see more of Andrew Garcia's amazing work, such as the BAT CHRISTIAN video below, go to his home page on Vimeo.
