Which do you prefer when buying music, MP3's or buying physical records?

I personally love buying physical CD's, I really only buy digital music when I only like a certain song or when I can only find a clean version of a CD or song online. Buying records physically is much more exciting for me, I like having physical CD's where I can take out the disc, look at the artwork/booklet, etc.

How about you?

As much as I love my Ipod - and I do!! I too still prefer the physical music. Whether it be cd or vinyl (yay!).
I like physical CD's better, but that's because I don't have an mp3 player. I always have a CD with me in my purse, currently I'm totin' around Deas Vail's Birds & Cages.
I really want some vinyl records, they're so cool to me for some reason. My parents have a few in our basement but I'm not sure if they work, they're kinda old so they're a bit beat up.

I was hoping to get out to a record store for Record Store Day this past weekend but I didn't manage to. I was really after Them Crooked Vultures 10" picture disk, the artwork was amazing.

I have to agree with all of you. It is convenient, and saves room to have digital music, but I love having the CD in my hand. It's something to show, and if my digital collection dies I still have the real thing. Of course this also includes vinyls, tapes, and 8 tracks.
I have loads of cd's, but nothing compares to when i used to buy vinyl albums. Rushing home and listening to it, while admiring the artwork, lyrics and sometimes a poster or sticker. Sometimes cd artwork is too small, and it's annoying when centre spindle is broken. Sorry i haven't come up with a mythical beast name yet!
I know what you mean. I love technology and everything, but there's just something about listening to music on vinyl. I'm going to be visiting my sister in Indy in a few weeks and whenever I go I usually stop in Bloomington and go to TD's Cds and Lps. It's this tiny basement record store that sells new and used cds but more importantly - new and used vinyl! Old bands, new bands, obscure bands - they've got it!
I always prefer buying actual CD's. I want something I can hold in my hand + I enjoy supporting the industry.
Yeah after I saw how much bands made off Cd sales vs digital sales I really decided to go strictly physical. It's hard enough being the music industry as is.
