Let's see, this is tricky. I love both of them, just a disclaimer. I prefer Rhett's voice on slower songs (Lonely Sad Little Water Dispensing Tab f.ex.) But I prefer Link's on faster stuff like My Favorite Pillow or My Hair Goes... Rhett's sound effects are usually a little better than Link but they both do great voices. I think Link sounds better than Rhett when he raps. BUT. And here's the BUT- when they harmonize they are each other's equals in my opinion.
Well, here's a little something on those high notes.
EVERYONE, including myself, has trouble hitting high notes. I mean, even Link (who is a great singer) has trouble. No matter what key the person sings in, they always have trouble hitting a really high note. It's just the way it works. And sometimes, a song by be a certain key (for instance: D) and there's 2 singers, one might feel extremely comfortable in that key and the other might feel really uncomfortable in it. It really comes down to what key he or she is natural in.
Personally, I like Rhett's voice better. Like on the Thoughtful Guy Rap, on the part where he starts rapping about whittling, it flows REALLY well.

Very good point.
I would have to say that Rhett is better in general but I also think their voices together are just awesome.

Please clarify.
Um..I don't know, I just think his voice is more appealing.
I shall not vote on this topic but just let you know my favorite songs for each of thier voices.
For Link it's Hoover Dam. The song had barely started and I had to go back to hear him sing the first two lines again. So smooth! Nice controll. Just love it!
For Rhett it's his Folsom Prison Beasts. And he even has a cold! Love the lyrics, Rhett sounds awesome and has a great 'look' at the end. Enjoy: http://youtu.be/1ngWwo86s18
Thanks!
Totally agree on Hoover Dam for Link! I've noticed he tends to sing somewhat nasally on songs; it might be his "comedic voice" or something (both of them have different "voices" they use for different songs, which is what makes them funny). When I got Up to This Point and heard Hoover Dam for the first time, I was like "WHOA" - different voice than we usually hear from him. I had a similar reaction to their cover of "Say It Ain't So".
I love the Folsom Prison Beasts song, Rhett does an amazing job Emulating The Man in Black.
He's got such a bluesy/Country music tone to his voice. <3
they both are very talented at singing. I dont really think one is better than the other, but personally i like Link's voice better
