Ah, the ultimate clash of soda pop brands... which one do you like better?

After I thought up the idea for this discussion, I decided to make sure there wasn't one about that already. While searching, I discovered that it was ironically the theme for Cara's Bent Object KBE entry!! I read the comments and realized that many people in the Kommunity have definite opinions about this, so I can't wait to find out which one wins!

Coke is more iconic and American. Plus, Coke's taste I like better. They are not the same! Coke has a darker, more syrupy flavor, and Pepsi is sweeter.
My tastes changed as I got older. As a kid, it had to be Pepsi for me. Now, I'm a Coke guy.
Pepsi, it's just simply better
Yay! My KBE inspired a discussion! I feel like I have kontributed. ;]
Anyway, I usually always picked Coke over Pepsi. But lately, I'm starting to like Pepsi more. Just something about the flavor, I guess. But I agree with John, Coke is more iconic and American. That's why it outnumbers the Pepsi in my KBE entry. :] hehe
Are there any 21+ people that will use Pepsi with Rum?
I think a Rum and Coke has to use Coke and it's not just because of the name.
Many restaurants and bars don't carry Coke products...so lotsa the time people are getting Pepsi with their "adult additive of choice" and not even knowing it. Personally I think it's a travesty.

I much prefer Coke as well...used to love Pepsi as a kid, now it just tastes waaaayyyy too sweet.

coke. 100%
There's a ski area next to my house that has Pepsi in their soda system but after enough complaints, they always have 2-Liter Coke bottles on hand for the Rum and Cokes.

Coke has ruled in the deep south for the past 100 years+ . In my hometown you would ask a friend "Do you want a Coke?" and then follow that up with "What flavor?", because the name is synonimous with pop or soda as used up north. Very acidic - - it's also great for washing bugs off your windshield or removing that oil film kicked up from the road on a rainy day.

But in many fast food joints Coke is becoming scarce because of close ties between PepsiCo Incorporated and Yum! Brands Inc. - - until the spin-off in 1997 Pepsi owned and franchised Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and KFC - - today Yum! owns those chains plus Wingstreet, Long John Silvers and A&W Restaurants, so they all carry only Pepsi products. Too sweet for my taste, although I do compliment them on their MtDew line.

Myself? My vote in this debate would be: NONE OF THE ABOVE!

I choose neither, since I'm a proud card-carrying member of the Dr. Pepper Fan Group

As a kid, I couldn't stand either one, or root beer for that matter. But now, of the two colas, I always reach for a Coke when I can. Although, to tell you the truth, I can't really say why.
Definitely Coke. c:
Pepsi!!! It does not taste like a can. Sorry Coke.
