Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!
Hey guys!
I’m sure most of you have seen us roll playing in the Komm chat. ^^ Well, Zach and I have decided to make one here, in a discussion, for those who are interested in a more long-term RPG story.
Firstly, it might seem like there are a lot of rules, but they are mostly just common sense and will not inhibit your ability to control your character. Also, even though we are “Game Masters” we will not abuse that power, in fact we will even kill our own characters if we feel it is correct. This RPG story is meant to be fun, do not take anything that happens in it personal, no matter what. Have a good time, use your creativity as much as you can, and just enjoy the story as it unfolds.
Rules!
Sub rules
1. The world is an Earth like situation, which means that you cannot fly. Of course, some characters with wings, and magic powers are able to fly, but real-world physics still apply..
2. Mythical Beasts are allowed. Meaning you can have dragons, phoenixes, and other types of creatures that may or may not exist in the real world.
3. This is a time period similar the middle ages, which means, there are no guns.
4. There is magic on this world. (Such as the use of fire, water, earth, lightning, light, and dark magics.) Of course, standard use of magic applies.
5. You are allowed to create a character of a different race, such as the races: orcs, drow, elves, and dwarves, among others. Try to keep your character’s personality similar to the characteristics of its race. For example, since dwarves like to eat, to not make an anorexic dwarf.
6. There are the different kinds of magic users, such as: wizards, sorcerers, druids, warlocks, clerics, necromancers, magicians, etc. If you are going to use a magic user you must stay within the boundaries for that type of magic user. As an example Necromancers cannot heal people, it just doesn’t work.
7. Creatures that are summoned using something such as an artifact will have to return to their plane of existence after a period of time depending on the strength of the creature summoned. But if a creature is summoned through a ritual (such as a demon) they can say on the plane of existence they were summoned on until banished, or summoned elsewhere.
8. Magic is not infinite, it relies on the strength of the user and it takes a price for its use. The stronger the magic the more the energy it takes to use. If you use magic to start a fire, and then the fire starts the trees on fire, it will take less magic than for you to try to start all the trees on fire on your own. Magic will also take more energy to travel a further distance.
9. Weapons can be enchanted, although those weapons are rare. Weapons that are enchanted must be enchanted as they are made, they cannot be enchanted after they are finished being made.
10. If the game masters have missed any rules, or feel that there needs to be more, they can add rules for the sake of keeping the story fun, entertaining, and fair.
Now that the rules are all out there nice and pretty, I would like to ask something..
Mods, if you would like us to move this discussion to another, external, site, I would very happily do so, if it becomes bothersome in any way. I would however, very much like to ask that you do not delete it. If we could have a warning first, so we have a chance to save the work, I would be very, very thankful.
Okay! So enough boring stuff, it's time to have some fun with this! Just post below with your addition to the story. Be creative, be fair, and especially, have fun!!

Sephiroth seemed to disappear from the scene. He reappeared, with his sword intact, on the edge of the battlefield.
“Raymond, you know full well that I do not have a brother. Cloud is my only relative, but he is the light to my darkness. And you know that I would not let bring other dark larlei with me to a battle because they could not stay out. What you hit were specters that I had formed to fool anyone who came. Besides, Raymond, the only reason you saw me as a child is because I used it as my guise for a time. I have been around sense the beginning of time, and even you have not lived as long as I have, although you are close. The larlei have been around from the point where time began, and know more than you can imagine. You could not fight one of us, let alone the six we have. And the leader of the six here can take me, and I have defeated you in the past. However, I will allow you all to live for a time being.” Sephiroth finished his statement and disappeared.
(Charlie, you cannot ignore an attack from another character. You did not provide information on how a falling person who has his sword pointed to the ground, and a wing to move himself through the air, suddenly was on the ground with a broken sword. Just remember that for the future battle scenes. And Ray, do not make up character history for other people’s characters unless you have talked to the other people to make sure that your information is correct. I am using Sephiroth from the game Final Fantasy 7. If you want to learn more about him you can go look it up, but he does not have a brother. Sorry guys, I just want to make this clear because my, or your, characters should not be limited based on other people. I do recall saying that the larlei were the first beings, though, toward the beginning when Dallas was still a part of this. Speaking of that, I am still trying to get him back.)
Fenris’s hand passed through Sephiroth’s wing as harmlessly as if he was no longer there. The tree did the same. Sephiroth smiled as he turned from the scene.
“Nothing you do will stop us.” He then disappeared. The minute he was gone the forest burst to life. Hundreds of forms came out, each carrying two sickle swords in a reverse grip. They all wore the exact same suit of armor, red chest with a helmet with an X covering the face. The only thing that was different between some of them was some had a black wing jutting out of their right shoulder while others did not. These creatures immediately started to attack the party, but they never strayed near the grieving Perigrina and Princess Nightglow.
(Btw, I am sorry if my last comment in my last post seemed kind of harsh. I should have worded it a little differently. Also, Sephiroth and the other five dark larlei on this world cannot die until the final battle where the light fights the dark. They cannot die one by one, because we are using them for different things. So, if you don’t mind, please do not target them as I have not figured out the names of four of them just yet, but I plan to have them be named characters. Thanks, guys.)
Princess Nightglow looked up from Perigrina, who was still utterly devastated. “Yes I speak Elvish, but I prefer the common tongue. I am Princess Nightglow of the pixies. I am currently using my human form, because it is simpler to interact with those of this world in this form. What do you need?” She finished as she looked around through the trees trying to find the one who was speaking to her, as it was still night.
The creatures continued to fight against Fenris, always with a constant laughter. They continued to fight even with the most grievous of wounds. Those who had taken damage that would have felled even the most powerful human continued to fight on. Some, with their legs torn off, pulled themselves along the ground to fight against Fenris. Some, that were down on the ground who seemed to be dead, got back up and continued to fight until their blood no longer flowed through their veins. They all did this, always with a constant laughter.
(Just for a little tip on the guys that are fighting Fenris, they cannot feel pain. There is both a warning and a hint on how to beat them.)
Princess Nightglow turned to the figure. “We have some skill in the art of healing, but I’m not sure how much use we will be.” She then turned to Perigrina, who had composed herself when Red came. “Perigrina, we are needed.”
“I heard.” She replied, grief still heavy in her voice.
“Let’s go, we still have a duty even though they are gone.” Princess Nightglow said as she turned back to Red.
“Lead the way.”
Perigrina and Princess Nightglow looked at Red.
"We can't help her if she is not here. You need to take us to her." Princess Nightglow stated.
"I'm not sure we will be able to help anyway." Perigrina stated, her voice still full of grief. Princess Nightglow slapped her on the arm.
"Don't think that way. We still have a job to do. We can grieve later, Perigrina."
"Sometimes I forget how young you are, and those times are when you act like this. But, you are correct. I will compose myself as best I can." With this statement Perigrina wiped her tears away and promised never to forget those who she considered her brothers. She knew she would grieve later, but she let them go for the time being.

Allaith (A-lith) and Rilvita (Ril-vweta) continued their sparing match. Allaith's golden hair reflected the sun, while Rivita's stark silver seemed to glisten. Both were using a short sword and a dirk combination. Allaith came in with an angle one with her sword, but reversed her momentum to strike at Rilvita's stomach with her dirk. Rilvita expected the strike and she dodged out of the way. Suddenly a guard came running. His pointed ears seemed just a bit longer than theirs.
"Mistress Allaith, Mistress Rilvita, they are here. They are here." He shouted as he came running.
Both dropped their weapons and hurried to follow the guard who brought the good news.
(Just so everyone knows, Allaith and Rilvita are both world travelers [as were Finn and Seth] and they are currently on a different world than is taking place with the RPG story. They will, however, join in the world that we are on once I do some character development. So, in other words, they are not here and cannot interact with the other characters.)
(well... bear with me, queridos, as I have no knowledge whatsoever as to what I'm doing :P but hey, I'm back)
Engulfed in the tree branches, Xylia clutched the twigs surrounding her so tightly that her knuckles grew pale white. She breathed deeply, trying to keep her exhaling in tune with the wind blowing through the branches. Nothing terrified her more than being caught. At least the scars on her face were fading slowly, and she'd managed to desperately wash of the marks that her captivity left on her. As for the rest... she remained paralyzed with fear.
She heard voices below and froze, gasping quickly for air, closing her eyes in a pathetic attempt to block out the horrible world. Her grip on the twigs increased until she heard them snap. That's when she panicked. The air around her seemed to disappear as she lost her balance entirely. She toppled out of the tree and felt herself falling. She half-wished she would wake up and find it was all just some sick dream.
She felt another body break her fall, so as soon as they hit the ground she scrambled away next to some bushes and stared into the cold, dark eyes of the fearsome man who was scowling at her.
In a split second, Xylia stood up straight and pulled out her sabre, wielding it ahead of her and slowly turning in a semicircle so that she pointed it at each member of the screaming party. "STOP!" She turned to Cavroz, who was punching Lorcan. "STOP NOW." She felt her breathing grow heavier, and her determination mounting. "Let's get one thing straight! I don't know who any of you are, other than your names. For all I know, you could be working for... him. So I advise you to stop lest I use this thing. I assure you I am very skilled. I don't want to hurt any of you. I only hope you feel likewise."
The forest was silent. She lowered her weapon. "I'm Xylia. And I'm only trying to escape."
Xylia tried to take in everything Cavroz was saying. He seemed insane--deranged even. She was too focused on escaping to notice any spirits at all. All she had were nightmares. His words were scaring her, and she was already panicked enough. She raised her sabre again and pointed it at Cavroz. "I demand you stop trying to kill him. I don't care what you have against him, you do not want to provoke me." Lorcan was the first person who had shown her kindness since she escaped, and she would take it for what it was worth. "Now." She turned to Lorcan. "We should try and find that lady friend of yours."
Xylia was paralyzed with fear, causing her to abstain from reacting until they'd arrived in an entirely different place altogether. Weeks of training kicked in. Lorcan still had her, so she drew her elbow back sharply and hit him in the stomach. She spun away from him and reached for her sabre. The man had seemed trustworthy, but apparently she was wrong.
"Explain yourself," she said.
Sephiroth walked into the small dark room. Around him stood four larlei, however the one in front of his was who he cared about. The larlei, the commander of the dark larlei, spun to Sephiroth, “Have you taken care of the two?”
“They are dead, my lord.” Sephiroth replied. “Who is our next target?”
“You know that Raylin is, but I have no way of finding him. But I have a better idea, on that will defeat all the defenders of this world. We are going to take out the magic.”
“Sir, is that possible? Will it not affect us as well?”
“It is possible, and it will affect us. But I will make the counter-spell and place it in a black gem. I will also enchant it to remain in my pocket, using black magic.”
“But… how will we survive? We are magical creatures.”
“The natural abilities that we have in our blood will not ever be erased. We will still be able to move as quickly as we can. However, all the creatures that cannot survive without magic will fall, for they will not be able to fight with a sword as we can. They rely on their magic, but we do not.”
“Very well, my lord. Until that time, I will continue killing the defenders, if I have your leave.”
“You do. Kill the elves, and kill those other creatures.
The red soldiers continued to pour out of the trees. They seemed to have no end.
The two girls rode on in the night; they trusted the horse to know where the blood-elf was.
“Are you sure that this horse knows where it is going?” Perigrina asked Princess Nightglow.
“I don’t know… but the man thinks it will…” Princess Nightglow responded.
“Well, I hope so. I don’t know how long this will take, and we have to meet with the other wizards. We need to let them know. We also need their help.”
Xylia nodded. "I understand. At least we got away." She stored her sabre away and adjusted her pack. "I'm Xylia." She paused, considering elaborating. Keeper of the inn in another life, another world, before Macon, before Loraden's warning, before Gallimond. Now, what was she?
"Just... Xylia," she added. She analyzed her surroundings but could not discern any tracks. "Now, do you have any idea where Alice might be?"
"Hmm... This complicates things." The dark commander stated. "Someone is tampering with the magic and destroying different elements of it. My spell will still work, but I will need to find who this creature is." As he finished his statement his spear appeared in his hand. He marched out of the black room and vanished.
The dark commander appeared on a hill in the middle of a field. He looked around and saw what he was looking for. A little ways off stood a man wearing a gray cloak.
"Well met, Raylin-harlei. We have much to discus." The dark commander said.
"You have found a way to end magic, I see." Raylin replied.
"I have."
"And you figured I have been tampering with it to keep magic in balance."
"Yes."
"Then you must know that I am planning to take you out." Raylin said coldly.
"I know this, and much more." The creature replied.
"Very well, but you also forgot one thing."
"And what is that?"
"It took energy for you to come here." Raylin spat.
"Oh, I did not forget." The creature replied as Raylin charged him. The dark commander stood jumped out of Raylin's path and laughed as four of the other larlie appeared behind him.
"You see, Raylin-Harlie, you would best me in a fair fight... But I never fight fair."
(Charlie, The Larlei have not begun to attack magic. I would state it very plainly if they did.)
