Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!
Hi,
I am a recent undergraduate looking to start making videos and commercials myself and post them on youtube via my new blog. However, since I am an advertising major ( this gives you why i am starting this little project of my own, I LOVE advertising), the production part of making videos and such is something I am trying to figure out on my own. Did i mention I just graduated from college? My plan is to take a couple video production classes next year, but as in right now I am looking to purchase my first new camcorder/video camera for this project, I love the fine quality from professional cameras, but it is out of my ability to afford one.
I was wondering if anyone can help me, give me some suggestions on what camcorder/video camera and what model would be the best for me. I want to present close to professional work. I want fine quality but also in an affordable price. I will need to purchase other accessories such as wireless microphone, tripod, video editing program... This is an one man project...I already made a couple videos and edited them, but the quality in visual and audio are very poor. Please help me!!
Thank you so much!!! Have a wonderful week:)

Because the question gets asked quite often about the AV equipment and software used by R&L , Rhett created a discussion thread that gets updated from time to time - - -

I have also been following a young filmaker named Andrew Garcia who's just this past month completed a full-length documentary about the lives and work of a missionary family in Papua-New Guinea, and the results are quite impressive. Here is a link to the trailer for his film "Two Hats" and on that page you will find a listing of all the equipment and AV editing software used in its production.
