Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!
I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet. When watching this week's episodes, I haven't noticed Rhett playing with or stroking his beard like he normally does. Just one more idea to put in the fake beard column.
The poor guy can't even laugh.
In a Facebook-exclusive video posted this evening, Rhett and Link appear in a photo at the very end -- and you can see Rhett's shorter beard!
It's very obviously not the beard he's sporting in the current GMM episodes, in any case, so it looks like he's already grown it out enough after these pre-recorded episodes that he's comfortable showing it.
The lower-lip-to-chin area is what looks most off to me, plus the downward turn of the 'stache which was not as prominent just days before. Assuming that they are only recording one GMM episode each day in the studio and they are released in the same order as filmed, this is hard to believe. No human has face fuzz that changes this drastically in just three days time.
Well, personally, I think he waited until it was at the perfect stage of growth to get rid of the fake beard. It was great to see him smile and laugh comfortably and freely. I loved the little tid bits of info they gave about Buddy System. Of course, adding in that the beardless Rhett would be present there. I have seen theories about the reason for the beard shaving ranging from a flashback scene all the way to Rhett having to shave his beard to save GMM from the mutual ex-girlfriend that is threatening it. I think we can put this to rest and get excited for the release of the chin....uh, I mean series.
In case anyone needs absolute, 100% confirmation, Rhett openly discusses the fake beard he wore on GMM in the live Q&A Rhett and Link did with The Hollywood Reporter yesterday: https://www.facebook.com/HollywoodReporter/videos/10153991510487750/
More public acknowledgement of the FAKE BEARD incident
