How to Defend/Comeback

Today in IT class, we were learning about Stop Motion videos. Of course, I suggested we watch T-Shirt War as we had 10 minutes to spare but the teacher said no. I watched it on my laptop anyway. My friend sitting next to me leaned over and said "Rhett & Link". Being the idiot I am, I hugged her and squealed (I'm so lame. I had done this to her previously when I played "My OCD" on the piano and she recognised it). She said (and I quote) -

"Oh my gosh, Grace! They're just two middle-aged guys who post videos to the internet. It's kind of sad actually"

This was me (look at Link before and after when Rhett says "you're not being smart!") when she said this

My response was horrible as I didn't have 10 seconds to come up with a comeback (hehe) - "Well they're my Taylor Swift and I'm not kidding" (one of my other friends is absolutely obsessed with TS so I just said that. Her fanship and my fanship are very different. I said the "I'm not kidding" bit as basically everyone I know is oblivious to the extent of my fanship except you guys. Whoop-dee-doo).

In the next class, I thought about the whole "ordeal" and I tried to think of better responses. I thought of many that were much better than what I said but I guess I just panicked. How would you have responded? Have you ever been in a situation where someone "insulted" your fanship of RL or insulted RL and if so, how did you respond? I know she didn't actually insult anyone too much but still. It hurt me way more that it needed to... BYMB!

P.S. I know "fanship" isn't a word

P.P.S. I have seen the comeback GMMore. I wish I did say "are you stupid enough to repeat the stupid thing you just said?" but I assume that if I did say that, we would've fought and I'm not fond of having conflict with friends (I like fighting (and winning) with people I hate)
