Rhetts sadness?
There have been times where he's slipped in a few words that may be taken different ways. During the hot pepper challenge he said "i hate the world, i hate that i exist" but hey, that may have just been the pepper talking
And during an interveiw with grace helbig, grace asked "why are you not happy?" In which he replied, "i tend to not be." Which, doesn't sound very positive..
And just for a last example, there have been random instances where his entire mood changes, but after all, he is just human, and we shouldn't be inteuding into his life if he doesnt want us to know.

Well, comedians are usually actually sad people, so I wouldn't worry too much.
It's cool that you noticed this kind of thing though. Not a lot of people notice/care about that.

I knew that comedians were usually sad people but I think it is something to worry about. I wish that this wasn't so.
I feel obligated to point out something - Rhett and Link aren't comedians - they're INTERNETAINERS and I hope that they aren't naturally sad people (but they did say at one point that they listen to depressing songs so...)

Most of their work is comedic though, so I wouldn't say comedian is an inaccurate descriptor for them.
A lot of people experience mental health problems, I'm one of them. It is unfortunately a very normal part of life. That said, I wouldn't speculate someone is depressed based on a few quiet moments and some dark humour.

I noticed that too. I hate thinking that at one point or another, Rhett and Link will feel really sad and we can't do anything about it. In fact, I try not to think about this at all because my mind tends to wander into dark places that take a while to recover from. The woes of life.
But thankfully, they're happy, giggly people most of the time (or at least on camera they are)

Your right about them not being comedians and being internetainers, which is pretty scary, also id like to point out that link had developed a nervous tick throughout the last episodes of season 8 and the majority of season 9

Rhett has proven he can have a dark or macabre sense of humor, so I've generally chalked up things like the "I tend not to be" response to that. And it was definitely the pepper talking for that first example, haha...I'd also hate that I exist if I had a massively hot pepper burning its way through my body! D:
Of course no one can be happy all of the time, but I don't think he says those things to cause anyone to worry or speculate.

What you said.
Yes these guys are internetainers, but they are husbands, they are dads, they are businessmen, and they have their minds in I'm sure many different place at any given time. I find it pretty amazing that they can deliver this show every day and keep up with so many demands. If they are feeling the pressure sometimes or just having a stressful day, I think they're allowed and I think it's normal. We all have rough days..

I noticed this too, I also noticed a change in Link's demeanor as well, I don't know if they have so much going on that their tired or something's going on. Its cool that you notice this too I was starting to feel stupid for analyzing it so much but I care about them too so I just hope they've been doing okay.

I've noticed this more with Link than Rhett, but now that you point out Rhett's sadness it isn't that hard to notice, now.
Rhett's probably the one who hides it better (he tends to joke about it), I would think, but what about in "Why Wednesday's The Best Day of the Week"? Link makes a joke about having depression, and Rhett looks genuinely confused/concerned at Link's joke. But in "Do You Sleep Too Much?", Rhett asks Link if he's depressed, and Link's reaction says it all. He tactfully evades (Olan Rogers reference) the question a little bit by saying "Rhett, if I was depressed, would now be the time to talk about it?" to which Rhett responds, "Probably shouldn't talk about that here. Makes me wonder why Rhett would say it like THAT if Link WASN'T depressed. In the same episode, Link had a lot of nervous energy and he was super fidgety, but after being asked if he was depressed, BOOM, he instantly stops fidgeting and he even attempts to NOT fidget by crossing his arms.
I've also noticed that Link does have a lot of nervous "tics" or nervous habits (cracking his knuckles, playing with his hands, adjusting his glasses constantly, etc.).
However, it's kind of reasonable that they wouldn't want to bring it to the attention of the Mythical Beasts if they do have these problems, for fear of losing followers, being judged or looked at differently, mean comments, etc.
Link has a ton of mean comments, though, which I think is the reason why he's changed his style and his haircut to please the viewers and appear more "manly".
(Also, their favorite genre of music is, and I quote from Link, "depression-inducing music")

You bring up a lot of things I was self wondering. I felt silly but I'm extremely empathetic and Link being my favorite of the duo I kinda read into his emotions and you're absolutely right. Ive noticed a stark difference in his personality over the weeks, he was somewhat bubbly and energetic and lately he seems kind of listless and just going with the flow. I honestly can't tell if he's going through something or he's just burned out.
I wouldn't look at him differently at all in fact he would be more relatable in my sense but I get what you're saying, they all dub Rhett to be the most manly of the pair but I always thought Link was pretty manly too because he's always hiking, paddle boarding, etc. Whatever his reasoning I hope hes talking to somebody and not keeping it to himself, I don't want him to have a meltdown...trust me I've been there. :(
Its cool you posted this though I feel less stupid when I see someone else notice things too. :3
