Do we really see different hues?

I mean, really. This has been getting to me in a weird way lately, and I can't stop thinking about it. How would we discover this?

I've thought of tests, but none of them would work...

"Is the color you see a warm or cold color?"

"It's a warm color." They see blue, while the scientist sees orange. THEY WERE BOTH TAUGHT THAT THE COLOR WAS ORANGE.

Somebody help? ;-;

If we did see colors in our own individual ways but those ways were unchanging over time, would it make any difference ? If scientists discovered that we see colors in unique individual ways, would there not be a danger that they'd start experimenting with ways to change how we see colors, when in fact our ways of seeing colors did not need to change - ?

In the "thoughtful guy" video, Link says our differences in perceiving color might have ramifications in the interior design industry. I don't see how it could, as there is simply no way to know the answer to this question.

BTW this is something I've wondered about since I was a kid, and I'm now in my fifties. So it's probably a common, if unspoken, question!
