Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!
Today's discussion on personal space gave me a flashbacks of the One Direction Caption Fail video (and an opportunity to recycle some of these things instead of creating new)
(crowds chants) Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!
"Rhett & Link Kiss" good idea for wheel of mythicality !
Audience requests a kiss where the music rises, violin section starts into Some Enchanted Evening and a breeze starts up, blowing through their hair. Possibly an orbiting arc POV on the camera. Tell me I am wrong!
Of course, that means the series has Jumped the Shark, doesn't it?
Also, hahaha! I had the same idea about waving fields of wheat and Rhett's hair and 'stache.
This was a very amusing and...informative episode. Rhett was really interested in Sally!
I think my basic rule of personal space is partially dependent on the other person's height. I don't want to have to look up too far to talk to them, so the taller the person, the larger the minimum distance at which I feel like my space is being respected (in other words, minimum distance for someone my height is smaller than the minimum distance for someone 1ft taller than me). And when in doubt, if the person backs up, don't move closer again! I don't understand why some people (even really nice people) can't figure out that if the person they're talking too keeps moving further away from them, that means they're encroaching on their personal space.
I don't understand it either. Humans are a mystery.
I generally agree on the space increasing if you have to look up farther to make eye contact with a person...although given my significantly lower-than-average height, I also don't want to end up so far away from a tall person that I look afraid or that the person has a contagious disease. At some point the neck strain becomes the more socially acceptable option. :P
