R&L may have missed the point on this topic. I don't think that the idea is to make the story believable at all, but to be so over-the-top unbelievable that it "must be true"

They both told pretty good stories...however, they didn't even need to have a competition. Rhett has ALWAYS been the better liar / "storyteller." It's sort of his modus operandi. :P
