Hello fellow Beasts!

Lately, I have been having trouble getting the inspiration to do more and to stay on task.  It's hard sometimes when I am doing my school work, and I have no motivation to do anything. Seeing as it is only my sophomore year in high school, I need to figure out ways to stay motivated so that I can survive the rest of my schooling career.

I have tried everything from waking up early, drinking gallons of coffee, flashcards, breaks, meditating...and even strictly listening to classical music! And...to my avail, I still end up distracted and wanting to just give up. I don't have any learning disabilities to my knowledge, (ADHD, ADD, etc) and I do get good grades. I just tend to have a more artistic mindset, and I am easily bored and sidetracked when it comes to analytical things like math, physics, etc. And, to be real here, I know school is just school, and it needs to be done whether it is "fun" or whether I "feel like it". I am just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what helps them study/stay on task/have the energy to do school or work related tasks. For your job or college tasks, is there any trick or ritual that you swear by that helps you stay focused?

Is there something I should or shouldn't be doing? Should I cut out caffeine completely? Any suggestion would help, and I will try anything at this point.

I appreciate if you read until this far down the page, and I hope you can help me in any way!

Hi, I have few tips for you that I use myself on daily basis.

1. Set close goals, ones you can reach in an hour or so, you will reach your goal and stay motivated.

2. Don't use Internet during learning, and probably leave your phone in other room, to keep distraction away.

3. Reward yourself, like with listening to you fav album between tasks.

And maybe that will sound stupid or parent like but study systematically. Because when you have an exam and you read something you will learn faster when you read that earlier even if it was like 3 months earlier, I had that in psychology lessons so I think there was some research behind this.

I wish you luck :)

Hi!:). First of all, don't beat yourself up for getting distracted. things that used to help me to stay focused: 1.making a checklist of things you need to do
2. changing up where you study
3. using peppermint oil or peppermint to help with focus.
4. MINDFUL meditation (Look up rain method).
5. Taking omegas
6. Drinking water - staying hydrated
7. Sleep

Never be afraid to ask for a tutor! Sometimes our minds wander and we need to step away and just NOT focus for a few days. I wish you the best!
