Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

I had various ideas for what I felt like writing about today, but that all changed when I walked outside. It really is a shame I don't have my camera, but then again I don't think film could do it justice.
If I am doing work sometimes it isn't uncommon for me only to emerge from my dorm room for meals. Today I slept in, ate lunch in my room, and then hit the books. I opened the blinds to discover to my relief that Texas was finally being graced with beautiful weather. We had been ridiculously cold and then right when the temperatures started improving the rain came. Today was the first sunny day in like a week. I thought seeing the sun was going to be the best image I had seen for the day, but then I left my room for dinner.
I emerged from the building, started walking to the dining hall, and saw a beautiful scene of colors.
It was like someone had taken paint or oil pastels and colored in the skies. Most of the world above me was the most gorgeous and rich shade of blue. It was just short of becoming dark blue, but it held a rich glow. Covering much of this was clouds, dark gray, wispy clouds. They weren't so thick as to hide the blue, but not so thin as to be completely undetectable. The clouds to my amazement didn't ruin the blue beauty, but to my disbelief enhanced it. The covering of gray caused the existence of darker variations in the blues. And as if their couldn't be more to marvel at, there was more blue beyond the tree line. Where day was still on its retreat, letting night sweep over our little town, there was a light blue like I had never seen before. These blues stood in a sharp juxtaposition of one another. They met at a boundary, not mixing or merging, but sharing the skies. Despite the separation they seemed so purposely put there. As if the artist had picked to have them meet like this and to use these rare and beautiful colors. Colors that you can't produce twice, even if you think you can mix the paints in just the right proportions. But they will never be the exact same.
Nightfall is such a gorgeous thing.
