I don't remember what type it was, but it probably is an emperor scorpion. But they did immobilize the stinger so it wouldn't sting anyone.

Is that a Pandinus imperator - Emperor Scorpion? I just read that they are the most popular pet scorpions. A sting about the same as a bee. They get pretty huge too, about 8 inches.
