@ Femke. The new movie takes place in a different universe than voyager. It's their way of starting over the series from scratch, but also so it doesn't have to follow the original timeline.

Hmmm. I was actually most displeased with the J.J. Abrams rendition earlier this year. I felt that essentially its purpose was to create a way (admittedly a very clever one) for him to go back in time, and rewrite Star Trek history. This of course is a pretty exciting prospect, bringing Star Trek to the next-next generation, so to speak, but I feel that the universe he is creating has very little of the magic that made Star Trek great. Perhaps the films will get better, but so far all I saw were some very elaborate explosions, fist fights, car chases, and phaser fire. And Star Trek, in my opinion, is a lot more than that.

I like both Star Trek and Dr. Who, so I was amazed when I saw this. Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JhAPkkLgtI

Live long...and prosper!! And John, I forgot to mention, I did cry during that movie...everytime! Can't help it sometimes. I guess even we real men weep.
