Most disliked in that is has the highest number of dislikes. However, I'd still award that title to How the Tupac Hologram Works, since an enormous percentage of the people who "thumbed" it gave it a dislike.

Oh dear

I enjoyed it even though I was initially clueless about the captions!

I'll be honest here and say this really bothered me. I don't know if this happened on any other YouTuber's captioned videos.

NO BIG DEAL - - - NOT A CONSPIRACY!!!

It's most likely just the GMM staff editing the captions to add in more jokes that they didn't think about first time through.  On other GMM vids, the close captions are added by the MB volunteers who work on that project in several languages and they hold strictly to the actual dialogue from the episode.  This April 1 episode with no dialogue is different in that the staff were at liberty to input whatever they wanted (within reason) to indicate what R&L are thinking plus ambient background noises to fill up the dead space.

I saw some non-GMM captioners mention that they had access to edit the captions on that video, for some reason, simply via the YouTube video itself and not going through Amara (which is what the GMM Caption Team uses).

I could buy that the original captions on April 1 (with swallowing a pebble and stuff) could've been done by a Mythical Entertainment team member, but the secondary fanfic captions -- which are illustrated in Rachel's screencaps above -- don't seem in character to me. My suspicion is a fan/fans got access and messed around with them. You'll note that the captions are now corrected to accurate, normal descriptions like "(silence)" and "(wheel spinning with clacking sounds)."

An article was made about the episode(s)

I wish that the person who wrote the article could get their facts right -

  1. GMM started in EARLY 2012 and not early 2011 (that was probably either a typo or confusion with GMCL)
  2. The phrase is "YOU KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS" not "you know what that means" (WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?)
  3. They DO have quite a few ornament thingies about/of Lionel Richie but saying that a lot of it is just proves that whoever wrote the article has little to no idea as to who Rhett and Link are and what their content involves. Also, they seem to be basing the "bric-a-brac" comment off of the Season 4-6 studio which had 4 Lionel Richie albums featured and not the current one which does not have any albums featured and was the studio that the episodes were filmed in
  4. I don't know why but calling them "confirmed motormouths" and saying that they were "incredibly disciplined" seems to be a little bit rude to me. I mean, they can be rather loquacious at times and they can certainly speak fast but that's not grounds to call them "confirmed motormouths". HOWEVER, I must concede that it was a bit surprising to me that they didn't burst into laughter within the first minute. I don't know if this is a "fact" that they need to "get right" but I'm putting it here anyway. This is more of an opinion (and I can get offended or vicariously offended (offended for someone else) very easily) and the person was probably (trying) to be funny or seeming as if that they knew a lot about Rhett and Link when in actuality they know very little

Ugh. I'm probably just being pedantic but still - ugh

If I may, I will make one more complaint - the person who wrote the article seemed to disapprove of the episodes. They said "and the “fun” doesn’t stop there." which sounds sarcastic (even though no one has verbally said anything) as they used quotation marks on the word "fun" and they said "Most of the commentary amounts to flat descriptions like “Nothing,” “More nothing,” and “Silence.”" and it seems that here they're not trying very hard to make the episodes sound entertaining or comedic. They do say that the episodes aren't devoid of comedic value but they also didn't seem to praise the episodes (at all). But again, this is just my bitcoin

Crap, I'm condescending and querulous. I'm going to shut up now

Yikes...that is a really harsh article.  I did notice that it was put in a category called "Great Job, Internet!" which seems to be dedicated to mocking weird things on the internet in general.  The condescending tone does seem to be there on purpose.  I'll bet that people who frequent that site are more likely to not care for Rhett and Link's style of humor, which does often go more oddball than not.

Our word of the day is "querulous" - - nice word, that one.

quer·u·lous  [ˈkwer(y)ələs]
ADJECTIVE
  1. complaining in a petulant or whining manner:
    "she became querulous and demanding"
I just read the comments for that article. Not good stuff.

There's about 2-3 comments that are VERY negative (or at least in my opinion). As I mentioned before, I get offended very easily so I did what any rational person would do and went rage quit on everyone. I then realised that I probably shouldn't have done that and I spent the next few hours researching about why people hate stuff and have such strong feelings etc.until I looked at the time and saw that it was 1 in the morning.

I can't handle hate. I can't ignore it either. I can't focus on the fact that the fans (probably) outnumber the haters and that what I love is almost flawless. I can't realise and accept that people have different opinions and different senses of humour. What a fool I am
