I have to question the validity of the statement that dogs and primates are the only animals that will make eye contact with humans. I've had three cats over the past 15 years and all of them make/have made eye contact with me on a regular basis. My cats also meet me at the door when I get home and sometimes follow me around the house. To be honest, it bugs me a bit when people try to say that cats are not as affectionate as dogs or draw other types of comparisons between them. It's like trying to say the extroverts are better than introverts. Why does one have to be better than the other? Why can't they just be different and it be left at that? (Sorry, mini-rant over.)

Ah, yeah I see now in GMMore where Rhett makes a jab at cats...that man clearly has never cuddled with a cat. I want a cat so badly that I might steal the next one I see, so I agree with everything you said!
