P.S. - - - it's already been settled (more than once) and the results are always the same . . .

PIE WINS!

Even the home folks back in North Carolina agree . . . although they much prefer the excellence of a good old Southern PECAN PIE over that ooey gooey cheesecake variety . . . in fact, they gave no consideration to that hybrid cheeseything whatsoever, with or without fruit topping.

CAKE OR PIE - - - either way it doesn't really matter . . . but did you notice how fast in GMMore that every guy on the krew drug those extra chairs into the studio space to partake of the leftovers?

There was much jockeying for position, not for camera time but just to get closer to the goodies.

Stevie even joined in, but not Jen who is probably still in training for her crossfit competitions.

It quickly became just an all out munchfest.

Ice cream cake is the best kind of cake, followed closely by cheesecake.

However, I agree that pie probably "takes the cake" for winner overall. It seems like every pie I eat is good (as long as I like what fills it), but it's much more rare for me to eat a cake where I think, "Wow, that is better than I expected." Too much icing or dryness seem to be problems that cakes succumb to more frequently than they conquer.

Also, welcome Leo to the Krew. It continues to expand.

I thought Rhett actually started out pretty strong with his opening remarks about cake -- but he totally lost me when he tried to argue that "pie doesn't exist." That doesn't even make sense!

I far prefer pie to cake anyhow, so his arguments wouldn't have swayed me anyway. I find cake -- especially the icing, because cake is mostly icing -- to be cloyingly sweet. Angel food cake is the only redeeming cake.

Haha, ya, I thought the "pie doesn't exist" argument was humorous but nonsensical :)
