I have no problem with religion per say. But it's when personal beliefs starts to leak out on society and affect education, perception of reality and the progress of human kind we have a problem.
If you would choose to believe in some kind of god it's great, for some it can be a help in life, some kind of higher meaning or whatever. But if you decide that your belief is the only right one and everything else is wrong and you have to start trying to affect your surroundings grouping up and fight for god, perhaps taking your kids out of school to become "warrior of god" (yes, the movie jesus camp) you have it all wrong.
Personally i do not believe in any god, and think that organised religion is the biggest flaw in human evolution.
I run a small blog that deals with the issues of Atheism, mostly what it means to be an Atheist. Each month I answer a question that's generally geared toward Atheism.
You guys should check it out when you get the chance, perhaps help me find new questions to answer.
Evolution and God can still co-exist. Just because one fact in a bible written by humans (well, many facts, but that's another discussion) is wrong doesn't mean their God is.
Also, no one can honestly say no TYPE of God, be it an earthly religion or not, doesn't exist.
That's why I tend to see myself as agnostic - no one can ever truly know any of it, so there's no point spending your life worrying or arguing over it. :P
The only thing I hate is when people can't tell the difference between a belief and a fact (and this isn't just restricted to theists, either).
Just thought I'd toss in my contribution. :3
I totally agree!

An invitation of that nature should probably be a discussion, not a comment. =\
