Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

Rosco's Chicken and Waffles is not alone! I arrived in Texas about a week and a half ago for college, and I was driving around Dallas I saw a Jojo's Chicken and Waffles. Is this concept a southern thing? (I'm from Florida, but as Rhett & Link have pointed out, it doesn't count as a southern state) But anyway, I was so excited when I saw the restaurant that I squealed, and my mom looked at me like I was crazy. Haha.

Jojo's?! That is... crazy! I've never heard of such a thing, but I would very much like to try it sometime. Out of curiosity, did it have the same design/logo as Roscoe's? ALSO did you get to try it? I sure hope so.
Apparently Chicken & Waffles is a soul food thing (... yes... I googled it). I also found out that there's one relatively near where I live called Lulu's (I think?) Chicken & Waffles.

So my university choir every winter concert does a Secret Santa, and before the madness begins everyone fills in a sheet with things that they like (favorite color, favorite candy, favorite food) to give their secret Santa some direction in gift-buying. So last year one girl put in "chicken and waffles," (and just for the sake of mentioning, she is indeed African American, and was purposefully and jokingly being stereotypical in putting down soul food on her sheet) and for her gift one night got KFC and a box of Eggo waffles. ^_^ I wanted to burst out singing the Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles song, but then everybody probably would have stared at me with strange looks on their faces. At any rate it was stuck in my head the rest of the night.
Lol Tegalto!!! =D
Parker- No, unfortunately I wasn't able to try it out, but I sure would like to! And no, it didn't have the same logo as Roscoe's. It would've been so funny if it did haha.
Do you go to DBU by any chance? I know that's pretty close. I got my masters in Christian Education from there. Great school and great folks.

Justin- No, I'm not at DBU, but I'm at CFNI. I'm considering going to DBU after I graduate form here, but I'm not sure yet. =D That's so cool that you went there!
Amaryllis, I graduated from CFNI in 98!

How do you like it there? Even though I got incredibly homesick, I though it was a great school. Is Mom Lindsay still kicking? I'd love take my family there sometime to visit and reminisce on the days of old.

OMG Peter that is awesome!!! I absolutely love it here. I haven't gotten homesick at all (though people kept telling me horror stories before I left lol). And heck yes Mom Lindsay is still rocking it! Though she retired this past spring, (At 95 years old!) she came to our Opening Rally and even attended our Creation Science class today. She is so sweet, and I thought it was the cutest thing when she started blowing kisses to all of us students. She is an incredible woman of God!
That's awesome! Yes Mom Lindsay is a pretty incredible lady. She used to come into the lunchroom and sit down at the tables and just chat with the students, I got to talk with her a few times. And rumor has it that she kicked Russ Taff out of CFNI because he was rocking out on his guitar in the auditorium and she walked in and was horrified by the "noise"! LOL!

That's awesome that you're taking Creation Science - that was one of my favorite classes! Is Dennis still teaching that one? There are so many incredible professors there. I don't know if Dr. Seif still teaches or comes around but that guy is such a kick. He's also about the smartest man I've ever met. If you see him, tell him hi for me would you?

I hope your experience there is as great as mine was!!!

Yup Dennis still teaches Creation Science, and Seif is still teaching our Old Testament Survey class. I get a kick out of his cop stories, lol.
I wish I owned that. I don't. But let's say that I do! haha
Lol!!!! =D
