The Mythical Show - Mythical Street Dancing Promo

Now that I've been a brave mythical beast and posted my dance first I hope that many of you will pluck up the courage to jump in and join for the KBE!

This is probably the most embarrassing thing I've ever done in my life (let alone posted online!) but it was a lot of fun! A stunt like this is COMPLETELY out of character for me and WAY out of my comfort zone, but I rose to the challenge and proved to myself that it's okay to just get out there and be unabashedly silly sometimes! There was a bus stop very close by and several people came to dance with me but I didn't include them in the video since I didn't have them sign a release or anything. Folks were very receptive, lots of people smiling and waving, complimenting my hat or honking.

My plan was to go out and do the "Lemon" healing dance from the Street Dancing Woman episode of GMM but, it was a very windy day so I had to hold onto my sign during the majority of my dancing, which was limiting.

So Beasts, get out there and get mythical. Dance like nobody is watching and have fun!

This was great!

You definitely went above and beyond when promoting the show! I love that you had a vanilla wafer top hat too.

My mapping tool must be on the fritz ---> I had put the distance from downtown Toronto to the border at about 30 miles, but now I see it's more like 80 each way.

Still you might have to deal with some high tarrifs and fees for a Canadian delivery.

Make a day of it . . .

drive down on a Saturday with hubby & the kids . . .

promise him some real Buffalo Wings!

Thanks for thinking about my dilemma Gumbo!
That solution would probably work, if I could somehow get my husband to watch the kids for a few hours so I could drive to the border to pick up shoes (that probably isn't gonna fly though)!
I sent Tweak an email recently and they said they believe they'll have international shipping back up and running in June. I figure, I've waited this long, what's another month or so! (they would have made the dance video infinitely more mythical though!)

@ Erin - - - > I've been thinking about your mythical shoe dilemma.

Luckily you live very near the US/CAN border.

I see that Tweak ships exclusively via FedEx Smart Post.  Call the FedEx office in Kenmore, NY and ask about holding a FedEx package at the shipping center for pick-up.  No fee, you just have to pre-arrange and drive the extra 10-12 miles because there isn't a store in Niagara Falls.

I worked for UPS many moons ago and that was a standard practice at my center, especially when somebody lived out in the country or knew they were going to be out of town at the time a delivery was expected. I know that FedEx will do the same. Just have Tweak ship to:

Erin McEnemy

c/o FedEx Office Print & Ship Center
1743 Sheridan Dr
Kenmore, NY 14223
(716) 447-8956

Get Directions

As an alternative, if buying from a US website that won't ship to Canada is an ongoing situation you face, considered a "sign and hold" service at a mailbox store.  http://www.american-mailbox.net/

This one in Niagara Falls, NY will sign for a FedEx or UPS delivery (the US Postal Service will not do that, so a regular USPS box won't work) and then hold it for you to drive down and pick it up.  Fee is only $5.50 for "non-customers" on a package of 10 lbs or less. Located only 2 blocks from the Rainbow Bridge at the US/CAN border, so you might even be able to park in Canada and then walk or bike across to save $3.00 on the bridge toll.

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the kind words Kevin and Gumbo!
Nobody offered the Mythical Handshake or identified themselves as a MB but there were lots of car honks, maybe some of those honks were from MB's (or maybe they were just honking because there was a crazy lady dancing on a corner wearing a hat covered in nilla wafers...)

Also, I apologize for my sparkly Converse kicks. I totally would have worn Mythical Shoes but Tweak isn't shipping to Canada so that wasn't a possibility. :(

Did anyone you met during the dance event identify themselves as a fellow Mythical Beast and perhaps even offer the Mythical Handshake?

Wow, I certainly hope you win one of the "weeks" for promotion!
