Since you liked "Into Thin Air" so much, you would probably also enjoy this book by Erik Weihenmayer. In May 2001 he became the only blind man in history to reach the summit of  Mount Everest. In August 2008, he stood on top of Carstenz Pyramid, completing his quest to climb the Seven Summits - - the highest mountains on each of the seven continents. Erik is also really fantastic as a motivational speaker, so if you ever get a chance to hear him speak don't you dare pass it up.
