Joel & Misti - - Praying for your safety and security in the aftermath of today's earthquake and tsunami damage. Please let us all know how you are when it all calms down.
For others of the Kommunity concerned about Joel & Misty, here is a Google Maps capture of their location in Kumamoto, which would appear to be more protected from the tsunami and earthquake damage itself, being on the Southwestern tip of the country and more inland with several island buffers to open sea. The earthquake was centered approximately 250 miles Northeast of Tokyo and 104 miles East of Sendai. (click on map below for larger image)
Yet I'm certain that their lives and all those of Japan will be extremely disrupted by the events of today. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Would really love your participation in the IKC Challenge - - not much of an active member presence in Asian countries.
Would a 7am Saturday morning (Tokyo time) work for you? It looks like you're about as far out as anybody, so that translates to a 10pm Friday (GMT) event time, putting our friends in Europe mostly around Midnight. You can either post back to me or on the KBE page. Thanks again.
Thanks for the comment on my "International Kommunity 2" photo. Just for fun, we have a small group currently trying to coordinate a massive KBE experience to see how many different countries we can get represented at one time in Kommunity Chat - - - hope we can count on you as our representatives to Japan - - - stay tuned for details at this develops.
Thank you for your friendship and your prayers. I think I am doing okay for an old man, but I don't have my follow up to remove the plastic tubes up my nose until Thursday. How are things in your travels far, far away?
Eep! A few high school students from the demonstration school at SSRU are over here in the States for a cultural exchange, and they say that the situation is getting worse. One of my professors told me they think that Thaksin may have been funding the Red Shirts somehow. Somebody found a money trail. Well, I will pray for you guys! Stay safe.
Hey! How's the situation with the Red Shirts in Suanluang? I'm reading in the Bangkok Post that the Yellow Shirts are threatening to come out. Is everything alright with you guys?
Hello! How are the Red Shirts treating you in Suanluang?
Just to let you know, if you're still interested in coming, the tickets will cost 50 baht/person, and it starts at 5 or 5:30 PM.... better come at 5 just to make sure.
SSRU is in the Dusit area, or Thewes, if that makes any more sense! SMALL WORLD!! I'll look up Suanluang district tonight. I have pretty much all evenings open but Tuesday and Thursday due to choir rehearsal (we are giving a concert on March 28th, and you're more than invited!), and Mondays after 5 PM for the same reason. I leave on April 1--we should be able to work something out before then!
Cross Tabernacle is my church back in the States. Terre Haute, IN to be more exact.
Heeeeeeeyyyyyyyyy.... You are in Bangkok, and I am in Bangkok. I am teaching in the Department of Music at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. We should get together sometime for dinner.
