Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!
I just bought a Blue Yeti microphone for my podcast (I won't mention it here so I'm not accused of shameless plugging... though I'd love to of course :-)
I have been testing it and am wondering...
When you guys used a Yeti you were both sitting a good 18 inches away from it and still your voices were full-sounding - you didn't sound like you were 18" from the mic. Sounded like you were more like 4-6 inches.
When I set my mic up (cardioid, etc) and recorded at 18 inches away or so, it sounded like I was away from the mic. I have to pull the mic in much closer to get that nice rich and full sound I want - or just to not sound like I'm in a room away from the mic.
Is this a post -production thing?
I use a MAC BTW.

Dwaine, welcome to the Komm!
Now onto the mic. A lot of it has to do with recording levels. You can adjust these on your computer, but I suggest that you get a small mixing board to make it easier (and sound even better). Make sure your levels are good, and then start recording!
@ Dwaine - - - Not to worry! Shameless self-promotion is actually encouraged here among kommunity members. How else are we going to get to know each other? So, with your "permission" and to save you the trouble . . .

In fact, I'll take it even one step further and post one of your videos here to get you started.
Great performance on a GREAT song! Thanks for sharing with us.
