MYTHICAL USA - -
have you seen one in your small town?
Rhett and Link officially confirmed on today's show [GMM #1372 ~ Hilarious Kid's Test Answers]
what was previously only alluded to in the latest edition of Mythical Monthly and bantered about the past several days in various social media posts.
Rhett - "Now, right out of the gate, we're issuing a very important heads-up . . .
so here it is:
HEADS UP!
In small towns all over America, we have put up brand new Mythical billboards!"
Link - "Yeah, that's right! So keep your eyes peeled for our billboards in a small town near you. And watch our socials for clues as to their locations, and then you can share your findings with the hashtag MythicalUSA."
If you spot one in your home town or anywhere along the highway, snap a pic & share it here also for fellow MBs to enjoy. A list of "clues" and corresponding locations will be gathered from your contributions and those posted or shared by the "official" Kommunity Facebook, Twitter and/or Tumblr pages.
From the Mythical Monthly clues (geographic coordinates) below, there are at least 43 out there to locate . . . my guess is maybe one somewhere in every state???
List and map updated daily until all are located:
Reported seen but no pics yet:

The curious case of the bus ads
I found a photo of the Maine #MythicalUSA ad, but it only raises more questions. The bus was seen in Portland, ME but features the same "Wilder" design that was seen in Vermont. It's doubtful they're somehow the same bus; besides the two cities being about 2.5 hours away from each other, the "metro" label on the ME bus wasn't on the VT bus. So what's up with that?
In any case, I guess that means we've found all the ads now....right??

Maine does not allow billboards, so it's probably on a bus like in VT.
there needs to be one in the small town close to me, like in marksville, louisiana
GOOGLING FOR CLUES:
Since there are only 20 of the 455 recorded town and cities in Maine that have a population >10,000, thought I might be able to investigate further . . .

scrolled the list looking for "unusual" town names in Maine, but that didn't do very much to narrow down the possibilities . . . here's a sampling:
There is not a town named NIPPLES or NEEPLES (in case Jack Black was trying to drop a clue) but there is a Naples in Cumberland County (pop. 3,976). Hmmmm?
Or, maybe it's still unseen because it's in the smallest of them all = = = Frye Island, pop.5
Also, although we already know the city of Florida's billboard, it was only recently finally seen in person (no photo yet) heading north on the turnpike: https://twitter.com/livelove_lyrics/status/1043859366053662722
A couple of different MBs offered additional information and the possibility of photos if they have the chance to go there soon. Potential coordinates of the billboard are 27.713434, -80.896955.
Tennessee's billboard has finally been spotted, leaving only Maine's ad left to find.

Thanks for the link updates. I’ Been trying to list the first report posted on any social media to give credit to the finder, even if they didn’t know what they were looking at. The images I have saved in the #MythicalUSA photo album here on the Kommunity are those “first notices” even if the Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr link no longer works. I will go back thru them all soon and fix any “duplicative “ listings.
