My Parents Could have been Rhett and Link!

So the other day I was having a conversation with my family about Rhett and Link. Although they are not as big of fans as me, they watch the show with me sometimes and do enjoy it. At one point I brought up a thought that goes through my mind on constant occasions. Rhett reminds me of my dad. My father was a little taken aback by this at first, and asked, "How am I like Rhett?" This is the list I was able to come up with:

1. They both are compulsive buyers (They like stuff).

2. They both can be real know-it-alls sometimes (To this my father replied, "I can't help it if I know everything." So yeah, I rest my case).

3. They're both really sarcastic.

4. They both get obsessed over weird things (one of those things being juicing), but then before too long kind of get over it.

5. They both have the same type of humor (My dad laughs at most of Rhett's jokes when we're watching the show).

6. They're both loud talkers.

7. They both like to try new things

8. They both have some pretty crazy but cool ideas.

9. They're both tall.

10. They both have brown hair and a beard.

11. They both play the guitar and write songs.

12. They're both not picky eaters.

13. My dad has made videos in the past supporting our church and other small businesses that really remind me of Rhett and Link's early videos.

As you can see they have many things in common. After I presented this to my family my dad said, "So then who is Link like." I took a small moment to think about this, but it didn't take long to find the obvious answer. With a small smile and a quiet voice I said, "Mom." and we all busted out laughing. I'm not trying to say that Link is girly or degrade his manliness in anyway, it's just true that he and mom are kind of alike. Here is a list of the similarities Link and mom share:

1. They both are more careful, and like to take their time to make sure things are done right.

2. They both are more concerned about saving money.

3. They're both more timid.

4. They both have anxiety about a lot of things.

5. They both have dark hair and glasses.

6. They're both kind of scary when angry.

7. They're both more wimpy when it comes to snakes, spiders, and other creepy crawly things.

8. They're both generally more focused.

9. They're both more organized.

The list isn't as long as the one with Rhett and my dad, but it's still pretty weird. I know there are several more things that could go on each list, but I just can't think of all of them and am too lazy to write them all down at the moment. Maybe in a parallel universe my parents take the place of Rhett and Link in Internetainment!

Anyway I just thought this was funny and would be cool to share, and it looks like, as my dad stated when we finished the conversation, that my parents are a perfect match for each other!
