Hi hi!
I realize it has been waaay too long since I have last written and even longer since I have posted a normal picture. I am a creature of habit and so I refuse to post a "regular picture." Instead, I will post something related to stuff done on the winter holidays.
I had some days off work and planned to go on a cake run with some friends. A
cake run essentially involves trips walking and trying out various cake shops and patisseries one at a time. The goal is to try new recipes and places to test the best at each location. So the more people you have, the merrier since we all have a taste of one anothers'. Here is a snapshot of cakes from one of the shops.
I was dressed in
Lolita clothing: a popular Japanese fashion that portrays the person as a cross between the wide eyed innocent Alice (from the wonderland) and a refined lady (with lace and fine details in the clothing to boot). It is not cos-play though it usually is mistake for it. Here is a website for it (in case you are interested:
http://www.lolitafashion.org/) and a picture of me and a random dog that came in the first shop in the cake run.
Luckily, the cakes did not do too much damage to the old waistline and I can still fit in the clothing. Overall, it was really fun, but too cold for I or my friend, AYU, to dress up again till it warms up in March. We are eagerly awaiting
Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. Link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_in_Wonderland_%282010_film%29 First, because it is a Tim Burton film and second, the character Alice in the Wonderland is greatly related to Lolita fashions. So I'm stoked and plan to wear Lolita clothing with AYu when it comes out in March.
So what about YOU? Would you like to try a cake run with your buddies? Do you like Tim Burton's films? Have you ever read Alice in the Wonderland? Are you planning to watch that film? I welcome your comments about any of the subjects mentioned. Have a nice day and Merry 2010!
