well i tryed doing this on my ipod first which failed on me so im going to type this up kinda fast...

Tips: can= metal; metal = conducter; hot glue+conducter= ouch..

          roll the can in the opposite dirrection after cutting ends off and cutting it down the middle.

1. cut ends off of 2 cans and cut them in themiddle. then glue the first on slightly tighter then a normal can and the 2nd one tighter than that. then take a third one and only cut one end off. you can then slip the cans into each other and angle them. you can make it the length or size you want. this gives you the frame

2. take a 4th can, cut the ends off, cut it down the middle. then you can fold it over but angle it to give you the shape of the tail. then you can glue it on the end of the small cylander.

3. make scales. take a bunch of cans and cut the ends off and down the middle, then roll it out flat. i then cut the first one and used it as a tracing tool so they were all about the same size and shape. and glue them all on starting at the bottom working up, and at the tail going towards the head.

4. making the mouth. i started with cutting the ends off a can again and down the middle. i took that and cut it in half again. then i took one half and glued it along the bottom half and cut it in the shape of the mouth. then i did the same with the top half and and covered it with smallaer scales using the same procedure as before.

5. i then made the fins cutting the cans just like in every other step and making it flat. i cut rectangles for the side fins and squares for the top fin. i then folded them in half over eachother overlapping them only about half way. On the side fins,  i folded them on one end about a quarter inch and cut a curved side along it and glued them on. with the top fin i took the overlapped squares and cut them in half to make a triangle shaped foldy thingies. then i did more scales around where they are attached for extra support.

6. then you show it to your friends and they reach into its mouth and fold the soda pop can tab down and they say"look! now he has a tounge. ha..ha.."
