MythicalBoy before/after
Before: Broken Nintendo GameBoy for 99 cents on eBay with free shipping.
Heavily corroded battery compartment, heavy scratches, broken dpad and A/B buttons, glitchy audio output, missing screen cover, and a nearly ruined LCD due to what I believe was an awful attempt to fix some dead pixel columns with a soldering iron.
After: Fully working Rhett & Link-styled “MythicalBoy”.
Clean, new transparent blue buttons, new battery contacts, new front PCB, custom paint job, white v4 uni-directional backlight, and a new transparent screen cover.
I was planning on finishing this up a couple weeks ago and sending it in so it could hopefully be featured during GMM's mailbag segment, but work and other stuff got in the way and I couldn't finish it in time. I'm still sending it to them, though.

Thanks, guys! It took me about three weeks on and off to fix everything up, and the paint took another week or so because I had to order it online and then I couldn't paint for a while anyway because I don't have anywhere indoors to paint and the weather was terrible. I was also busy with work for a while so I didn't get anything done.
I just left my job a few days ago for a new one with a consistent schedule and better pay, so now I'll be better prepared to work on more stuff like this in the future. Now that everything's been settled, as long as I'm doing stuff from parts I have in stock and don't have to order, stuff like this should only take 3-5 days, depending on whether or not I have to paint and how complicated the paint job would end up being. When I do commissions I usually tell people it'll be about 2 weeks just in case.
