IRN BRU - - - > IT'S PHENOMENAL!
I think that the slight bitter taste of Irn Bru is most likely due to one of its minor ingredients - - QUININE. It occurs naturally in the bark of the cinchona tree and was the first effective (and still most widely prescribed) medical treatment for malaria. It is also the ingredient used in tonic water that gives it that bitter taste and causes it to fluoresce in direct sunlight. Here's what it looks like in "normal light" and under a "black light" . . .

Phantomess, Fae is the Scottish word for From. My grandparents use it, aswell as my uncle :)
