I just use a little Wilton black icing dye in a container of ready-made chocolate frosting. A little dab will do. Now the blue WILL stain your tongue for a couple of hours!

The black usually just turns my tongue purple - I love purple!!

Everyone will probably end up with blue lips for a couple of hours though.

WARNING: the amount of black foodcolor required to produce black cake icing can cause staining of teeth, gums and tongue that could take several days to wear off.
