To Blog or Not to Blog...what was the question?

How many in this group are bloggers? I've been thinking about taking up blogging, and I am wondering if there are experienced bloggers here who can share some advice. Are there blogs which you visit frequently? What are some of the more interesting blogs you have read? Why do you hate blogs, if that is the case? If you "vlog" instead of "blog." what motivated you to make that choice? Since this is a writers' group, does blogging fill the writer's need to write? What can you share?

I prefer writing in a personal journal than blogging for the whole world to see lol. The only time I will blog is if something so incredibly funny or amazing happened that I just HAVE to share. When this happens I will post it on MySpace haha. =P

Thanks for your response Amaryllis. So you have two ways of recording your thoughts and feelings about "stuff;" you have a private personal journal for yourself and then you blog to share with people at large. That is certainly an idea. I have tried keeping a personal journal a couple of times. I think (though I am not convinced myself, yet) that I want to try blogging because it will make me more disciplined about it. I will be more prone to write regularly if by chance someone out there in the world-wide cyberland might be looking over my shoulder. It is something to think about. Whenwe have personal journals we know we can write most anything we want about most anything we want. Do we edit blogs because we never do know who might read what we wrote, and how it might come back to roost someday?

I blog! I've been blogging since 2005. It helps me releasing my anxieties, my worries, just having fun or express my concerns. It also helps me keeping contact with friends. You can share anything you want to. I use wordpress which allows me the chance to keep certain posts private so only people with the password can read them.

Okay, blogging. Heeeere we go.

Question 1. Do you want to blog to become famous or just to blog?

Question 2. Would your blog be random stories and ramblings or a set theme (e.g. CakeWrecks)?

Question 3. Do you want to get a lot of readers, or would you be equally okay without them?

Question 4. Do you like sharing your thoughts with people? (i.e. do you blog because you want to share it with others or do you blog for yourself?)
