Happy Birthday posts to everyone on the side of the main page, and anybody else, when we know their birthday

GOOD IDEA - - - that's how I got started on this WELCOME thing in the first place.

Just keep in mind that the KOMMUNITY main page only includes the first 10 names (listed alphabetically), so you run the risk of someone having their feeling hurt if their name is Zoolander. I asked sometime back, and at the time there was not an expanded listing for all birthday listings available. Just figure it this way - - if only half of the K-members have posted their birthday, that's around 15 per day [ 11,000 / 2 / 365 ] so someone will definitely be left out.

I think no more then 3 welcomes are really needed. That's why I don't welcome all. I have been sending birthday wishes though. In joined June 30th in 09. Wasn't active and sort of forgot about the Kommunity. On my birthday Aug 3 I received a few birthday greetings. It was then that I really became active. I am glad I did.

I think its nice and builds the Kommunity to be welcomed or to wished a happy birthday

10 person limit on birthday sidebar does leave out a lot.  One possible solution is to add a filter

 ( on the member tab) page where  you can expand to view or search members by a "name") 

 If they added  filter in the advanced search to include search by birthday.  When couldthen  leave greetings

 for all the beast whos birthday was today.       Just an ideA?

I'm thinking:  our own YouTube channel.  We can make the welcome vids there and then post the URL's on the beast's pages!  If you don't like it, its fine, but if you do then let me know and I will make us one and send out all the info!!!!

That's a novel idea! Feel free to create a welcome video which you can post instead of a welcome "banner" or picture. but i suggest that, instead of a URL that would take the recipient to your YouTube account to be viewed, you could simply copy and post the  html link on their profile page where they can see the video immediately and without leaving the kommunity.  It could  be an original song you create or maybe just WELCOME TO THE KOMMUNITY sung to the tune of HAPPY BIRTHDAY ~ keep it short and sweet and simple.  I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

That's even better!  I'm glad I could help.  I am working on some short little songs right now that would be good for this.

Ooh we could come up with our own version of happy birthday kommunity style to post on the birthday beasts walls! Like I've heard a version of happy birthday which is "This is your birthday song! And it isn't very long!" or like the one from Madagascar "Happy Birthday to you... you live in a zoo... you smell like a monkey..." You know except it could have something to do with mythical beasts and then someone musical could put it into a song! And we could create a discussion and all on here to post ideas. ^.^
